5. Kudos to Dave for having him on. Leno couldn't have done that.

6. Leno would not have done that.
He's too busy catering to the republicans.

8. I heard him on NPR two days ago.
He sounds just like his dad. It was weird to hear, not just because it was like Sonny was still alive, but because when I think of him as Sony and Cher's offspring, I think of a little, blonde, three-year-old girl. I hope is life is what he wants it to be. That's all that really matters.

9. True you only live once.
Why should anyone care what society thinks? Just be yourself, I think that's his message.

10. Fascinating and I do think he is finding a personal peace...
Good for him, but I have to give kudos to Cher, too. She may still be "in process" in terms of her acceptance, but it certainly seems that she has tried her best to be as supportive and accepting as she could. I think the world of Cher, frankly. I hope Chaz continues to find his path.

11. Reminds me of an old joke.
From Cheech and Chong: "Now we return to "The Story of the Jackson Five", starring The Osmond Brothers!"

And the sequel: "The Story of Ike and Tina Turner," starring Sonny and Cher.

17. Yes it was. I happened
to see this while surfing. Letterman's treading lightly questions and Chaz's deeply personal answers...glad I happened to see it.

19. According to my listings, KO was scheduled to be the first guest,
So I made a point of tuning in. I don't know what happened, but his absence meant that this interview got extra time. I thought that Dave was actually pretty open, and Chaz certainly was. I think it was a real teaching moment for anyone who saw this, including Dave. Great TV! :toast: :hi:

20. Dave
Dave was serious and sensitive. I felt he gave the subject serious attention and he was sincere in his questions. You could tell Dave was not informed but had a genuine interest and wanted to educate himself and his viewers. This is why I like Dave so much. When he has people like Bill Clinton or a politician on, he asks the right questions but at the same time keeps it light and entertaining. Jay Leno could never get Dave or what he does.

22. I totally agree with you about Dave.
He was out of his depth, but really made an effort here. It was both interesting and informative and he really was sensitive about the subject, despite his lack of understanding. Since this was someone he knew as a child probably helped. I've been in the studio audience and he impressed me a lot. He was extremely cordial to his audience and even came out after the show to thank us for coming, not necessary, but very nice. :)
