1. How do you do more with less if you have cancer?
Do fewer sessions of chemotherapy then the doctor recommends? How many people could afford to foot the bill for heart surgery, for cancer treatment?

I guess Cantor has money because otherwise he wouldn't be so flippant about cutting funding for people whose very lives depend upon Medicare and Medicaid.

2.  I can't stand looking at him let alone hearing him speak.
Edited on Sun Apr-10-11 06:34 PM by howaboutme
He has one of those faces and an arrogant manner and look that makes me dislike him before I know anything about him...but that's just the way it is as R- Rep Ted Poe says. Cantor typically finds a way to make an appearance on camera even when he isn't the person of interest. Is that how he suspiciously went from a nobody to a leader of the House.

3. Cantor is a sadist as his Republican followers will soon find out.
A lot of the people with higher incomes who rely on Medicare are Republicans. They may support this in theory, but the practice is not going to be popular.

4. Not going to watch it.
I can't afford to replace this hand-me-down lap top that I would fling through the wall. Nor, can I afford to fix the hole in the wall. Goddamn smarmy, motherfucking prick doesn't seem to understand that poor people are already the experts in doing more with less. And, there's only so much one can do with what little one has.

6. Very few people truly earn the title 'Horse's Ass'...

Cantor should feel proud...

His double-speak and wordy rhetoric not only didn't answer anything, they proved you CAN have too many tongue cells and too few brain cells to operate them.

Oh yes, Horse's Ass it is...

11. Do what most Americans are learning what to do
That means there's an exclusive block of Americans who don't need to do that. Now, who would that be ?
Could it be "The Wealthy ? This guy makes Hitler look like Mother Theresa.
Not to sound like Ted Kaczynski, but this is what makes a sane person ruin their life because they are
ruining so many lives, making it more and more difficult for them to stay above water while they deposit
blood money into offshore accounts from their puppet handlers.
Go figure, they shoot Gabby Gifford, JFK, MLK, RFK, etc , all people searching for peace and good for their
fellow man and woman, and spare the Satan's of the world.
I don't advocate violence but when state senators from NJ would visit our company, the head of security, who
I know well, told me please, stay away from this guy. He knew I would ask tough questions and badger him until he
stopped giving me the double talk they're so good at and call them out for who they are.
No wonder I meditate often after seeing scum like this.

12. Chris Wallace actually asked twice the important question...
Cantor did a good job talking in circles and never answering. I'm surprised no one has asked the Republicans proposing means testing for Medicare, if they thought it would be fair to tax a person for Medicare if they were never going to receive it because they are wealthy.

Black America's permanent recession in the best of times, in the worse of times: Black unemployment in 2003 was 10.8 percent. It is now 15.5 percent.

19. Theft from those willing to allow Robbery
I wanted used this quote last night. I held back because I wasn't sure of the attribution. It is also controversial political statement because of the time and the place where it was most likely made. But then, I learned that a prominent member of the party of No also uses part of this same quote. Therefore, I'm going to steal it back for the good guys. The quote is as follows:

"When probing, probe with a bayonet. If you hit softness, probe deeper; when you strike steel, stop."

That is precisely what has transpired over the last 72 hours. Democrats have been unbelievably weak, while the Democrat-in-chief seems content to have brought a hymnal to an alley fight. But rather than an uplifting tune of hope and promise, for the victims of these cuts in social, educational, and other programs there will only be continued sad song of suffering and lamentation.
Democrats need to drop the songbooks, and pick up a pair of brass knuckles, whatever else might be handy in this political alley. This is another instance of the party of No fighting to destroy not only a political entity, but a way of life that Democrats know is better, more just, and more equitable than what has been forced willingly down their throats at political gunpoint.

Democrats have given an inch, and the party of No has been left a license to steal another mile from the poor, the elderly, and disabled. Their intentions also victimize anyone who hopes to better their lot in American life by virtue of education. Democrats know better. It is a part of not only the history of our party, it is a part of what we are.
If we do not stand up for our beliefs now, what we believe will perish one-inch, and one mile at a time. The question which Democrats need to ask not only themselves but history is how far we are willing to let other people suffer for our own lack of acting on what we know we believe.

24. Yes, Mr. Country Club Republican, Eric Cantor, let's see
YOU do more with less. Most Americans are already strapped. Elderly live on a fixed income, and many have multiple medical conditions, which at the least require expensive medications. And your idea is to have them purchase health insurance on the open market with a voucher??? Folks on Medicaid are already scraping the bottom of the barrel, so defunding and turning all that over to the states is somehow going to help those most in need. Wow. Have we ever heard so much Orwellian clap trap?

25. It seems that every member of Congress and the President
would greatly reduce their salaries so that they are "earning" what the average American earns. Even though almost all legislators are millionaires, they should not be allowed to spend that money while they are public servants. Sadly, the Congressional members that are not millionaires, become so during their time as "public servants." How fucked up is that?

Our only hope to change the status quo is a revolution. Of course we can not fight the biggest military on earth. We must do it non-violently or be crushed.
