Eman Al-Obeidi's mother speaks to Aljazeera saying she was offered money from the regime to make her daughter changer her story. Eman earlier had managed to talk to western journalists telling them they had been raped multiple times by men of Gaddafi's militia before she was dragged out of the journalist's hotel.

I believe her. The Libyans believe her. Her family and her new husband (the marriage was made official even though she's absent, to show that she is honorable) believe her. And they are all supporting her and they see her as a hero of the revolution, along with Mohammed Nabbous.

It breaks my brain and my heart that there are people on DU who don't believe her.

If it's all a lie to get Americans to support the intervention - why was there a huge demonstration in support of her in Benghazi? Why do the Libyans on Twitter constantly tweet about her? Why are the journalists who were there so emotionally involved? But then I guess maybe that's all just staged too - because our government totally controls every Twitter account, every YouTube video, every picture posted online, every article written in foreign newspapers, everything shown on Al Jazeera.

It's good to question propaganda, but I think you may have gone a bit too far down the rabbit hole when you refuse to believe anything at all ever.

2. This has everything to do with hatred of Obama not...

whether this woman is lying or not. Folks here on DU hate Obama so much they literally could care less if this woman is telling the truth or not...And that is what is so disgusting!

Why would this women risk her life to do what she did in Tripoli if she was not 100% telling the truth? Sure, Gaddafi & his secret police allowed America to stage this in Triploi so it would drum up support that could possibly lead to him being killed. Whatever!
