Based on a true story on the Square about a woman who was ratted out by a fellow workmate who was a Republican and fired for what she wrote on Twitter, the new band "Madison Palm Tree Revue" wrote this little catchy tune:

Fired For Her Tweets -- Madison Palm Tree Revue

She got home after a long day at work
She'd like to take a train but it was turned down by some jerk
who was on a mission from his own God to destroy the working class
she fired up her laptop and wanted to kick some ass

She logged on to her Twitter account and sent out her frustrations
at how crazy the amount of lies she saw on the tv stations
She had her own opinion on how Republicans were assholes
She made it known who followed her what she thought were their goals

She was fired for her tweets ratted out by someone she knew
I guess she should have been more discreet
She was fired for her tweets for her opinion, she got screwed
And turned in like they do by dictators

The rat who turned her in was a little Fox News fan
If you ever saw him you'd say he's just half a man
He just couldn't take someone who wasn't as dumb as him
As he was, so he ratted her out that's what you call scum, Jim

(CHORUS)

3. As Woody Guthrie said, you play more than 3 chords and you're showing off

Essentially, the song is only three chords with some fills. The version here is in Eb. You can play D G and A variations. Enjoy!

5. What did her tweet say?
At my old job I used to put anti-* and anti-war magnets on my locker knowing that one of the 'bigshots' there was a loudmouth Republican. He always took them off my locker, so I made sure that I had dozens of them inside for when he tried to censor me. He took one off, and I would slap on another. And there was NOTHING he could do about it. As long as the chauvinist behind me had his "support the troops" (vomit) ribbon on his locker, I would keep my anti-war magnets up.

6. Here's the short story
Where she worked is a lobbyist group who represent highway building interests that are usually either non-union or pro-prevailing wage groups. They are essentially anti-union and were partially behind the decision by Walker to throw away rail money because unions would get a lot of the jobs.

From what I know, the woman in charge was considered eye candy for the lobbyist group at meetings and conference. She was the Booth Babe.

The jackass who turned her in for her tweets is a dumbass die-hard Repig who literally ratted her out since he was following her tweets. He then told other clients of the lobbyist group what she had said via Twitter (mostly sane observations about how Walker was overstepping/Koch Brothers fake phonecall, etc.) and had the management fire her.

I met her once at a local pub and she indeed is an attractive, intelligent Democrat that impressed me with her spirit. She doesn't probably know a song was written about her.

The point of the song is multi-leveled with obvious indications.

And no, I will not expose who she is until we meet again and she agrees on some level of discussion. That said, I am working on making a documentary of the recent events and she may be part of it.

:hi:
