2. People working for the mayor of NYC went to another state, lied, and illegally bought guns
Why should Mayor Bloomberg and his cronies be exempt from laws that you or I would be imprisoned for breaking?

4. Lied about their identities you mean? That what investigators usually do in a sting.

5. Their identities, their ability to pass a background check, and the fact that they weren't...
...the actual buyers (because they were using NYC's money).

Other than that, they're just honest choir boys.

6. Same as when undercover agents test airport security. (They're not really terrorists.)

7. The very important difference is that Bloomberg's stooges aren't law enforcement officers
They're hired private dicks, who have no more rightful charter to skirt the law than you or I do.

9. If the general public can have guns and ammo, private security can test system soundness.
The purpose of the spot check was to determine if the system was protecting the public.

Its purpose wasn't to defeat the system.

10. Private security breaking the law is still people breaking the law
Its purpose wasn't to defeat the system.

But that's exactly what it did. The system is vulnerable to people who are willing to lie.

12. If the vulnerability of the system to lying is exposed, that's consistent with fixing it.
The stakes are too high not to subject the system to constant scrutiny.

If every seller at a gun show asked every prospective purchaser Are You Law Enforcement? or Are You Working For Any Governmental Agency? wouldn't that be satisfactory?

Just like asking a hooker if she or he is an undercover cop, right? If they lie, you skate. LOL

14. So, is it OK to you
That these people want to disarm you so bad that they're willing to lie to do it?

No one is buying fully automatic weapons at gun shows in Arizona

AWB 94 would have had no effect on Jared Loughner

Over 10 rounds is not an extended magazine

Every thug in the hood does not have "cop Killa" bullets

15. What weapons does the NYPD view as a problem? Isn't it any from which ammunition can be fired?
Weren't the moles sent to the show to expose unrestricted access to guns generally?

I took that as the purpose of the sting.

16. What weapons does the NYPD view as a problem?
Pretty much any weapon not in NYPD hands

Weren't the moles sent to the show to expose unrestricted access to guns generally?

What does "unrestricted access" mean to you? Convicted felons are still not legally able to purchase guns in Arizona. All the precepts of GCA' 68 are in effect. A private sale is just that, private

17. To me, unrestricted access means I tender you money and you tender me a gun,
with no accountability to society for the transaction.

As the now-owner of the gun, I understand that I bear accountability for its misuse.

But the seller was one-half of the transaction by which I came into possession of it. There is accountability associated with that as well.

18. No there isn't
If I sell you a gun and you commit a crime w/ it it's your fault.

Same as if I sell you a car and you go out and get drunk while driving it

You are responsible for your actions

22. If there's no accountability by the seller, then
why is there any discussion that certain would-be purchasers shouldn't obtain guns?

Would-be sellers are obligated to make sure they don't get them.

If they cannot fulfill that obligation, then they shouldn't be sellers.

8. So the issue is the undercover expose of scum bag arms profiteers?
In a state so intent on keeping "illegals" out they seem to welcome "illegals" coming in to purchase weapons that, I am sure, are being used for their own protection.
Lets get real about guns and enforce the laws we have and fix the ones that are broken.
I am a life long gun owner who thinks the NRA is a front for profiteers and they hide behind my right to own my guns.
