They all say "Hey, it's the military", so apparently this man can be held without charge and tortured.

you'd think that the members of the military would be especially privileged with constitutional rights, seeing as how they are fighting to protect our constitution and all.

Oh, well, I guess being in the military means you have no legal rights if the government wants to NOT charge you with a crime.

disgusting.

2. Having served in the Military...
they are correct. The military can do what they want with you up to a point. At what point they are with Manning we may never know. You know he is on suicide watch (how convenient). On top of everything else he is being held on a Marine Corp base in a Marine Corp brig guarded by Marines. Who tortured and allowed torture to happen at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, the Marines!

Our military is used for one thing, American hegemony around the world. Our leaders from early on have used the military for American imperialism. Since 2003 our military has been used to torture our prisoners and kill innocent men, women and children in our name to control the Middle East. It should also be no surprise that Iran is between Afghanistan and Iraq.

3. Amazing
Manning's situation is straight out of Kafka and Orwell.

America can torture it's own citizen's with impunity!
