25. "I might be a Jew.............
Edited on Sat Jan-01-11 06:28 PM by louis c
.......but I'm a Nazi because I really like Hitler's policy on a strong defense and his tax plan". Anonymous German Jew in 1932.

What a nit-wit. The Republican Party hates gays and they want to take away your rights, just as the Nazi's did to the Jews in Germany in the 1930's. All the other policies are meaningless when a political party wants to take away your human rights because of who you are.

3. what a tool
This guy is as sharp as a spoon - "you couldn't have repealed DADT without Republicans."

Let's get this straight (no pun intended), this fellow is only trying to get on tv and make a name for himself. While he may indeed believe the things he says, he does not even understand what he is saying - he just spouts talking points.

Also, what was with his shady emphasis on being "conservative"? He tries to set himself a part from Republicans, yet he stays within the party. This guy has yet to find the truth and he will continue to struggle to express himself as long as he tries to be something he is not (a "conservative republican").

5. This conservative is mental
He basically just reads talking points that have nothing to do with what Cenk is asking him and when Cenk calls him out he just ignores him and keeps rambling. I fully understand why Cenk got so frustrated with him towards the end, he wasn't listening to a word Cenk said.

8. I saw Dan Savage on w/a guest "host" on MSNBC and he said that GOProud is
manipulated by the GOP, it's NOT pro-gay, and that anybody who thinks it is is mistaken -- it's another avenue to promote the GOP agenda.

Don't know if that's accurate, just passing it along and Dan Savage usually knows whereof he speaks.

16. The Republican party is only for rich white men
who have no females in their life they care for and only have sex with hookers.

If your not in that category you should never ever vote Republican.

Cenk could have that same conversation with any one in the middle or lower class, woman, minority, homosexual or a man who would want to see a woman in their life paid fairly for the same job as a man.

The Republican party is against you.

17. What do all of those other things mean
Edited on Sat Jan-01-11 10:21 AM by Proud Liberal Dem
when the party you vote for wants businesses to be able to fire you simply for being gay or lesbian, won't let you have a legally recognized union with another person, doesn't want you to serve in the military (openly or not), and basically wants you to drop dead? Oh sure, they'll gladly take your votes, your contributions, etc. but if you are a gay Republican you are not going to be getting ANY support for social progress for gays and lesbians whatsoever under the Republican Party- aside from a few moderate individuals. Near as I can figure, though, social progress for gays and lesbians just doesn't seem to be high (if existent at all) on their priority list, so I guess if you take that out of the equation you have basically a bunch of rich conservative gays and lesbians whom care more about their pocketbooks than their rights- which is probably not a big deal for them because they're affluent enough (and probably not inclined to join the military) that they can buy themselves out of any problems that most gays and lesbians face on a daily basis. They will, of course, also benefit from the positive changes that DEMOCRATS are inevitably able to push through.

think about that... he is so brainwashed by the GOP philosophy that he is willing to sell himself out whole. Hate? One can't think much of oneself to trade rights for a life of greed. It's pathetic...

He can't be gay. No way does he sit with his partner and think, yeah, healthcare and us is a winning combo. What state does he live in? One where his partner can visit him if he becomes ill or one where his partner can participate in his end of life decisions?

No way. I don't believe he's gay. Give it a year, it will come out how much he was paid to say this sh**.

33. The power with our party is we have no message discipline
like they do. He actually did ok. He avoided the trap doors Cenk was trying to talk him into. He stuck to the main themes (which I won't mention here because of something called "mutual inhibition" which means thinking about the conservative catechism tends to inhibit thinking about the liberal worldview, and vice versa) and avoided issues that are polarizing to Republicans. I see someone in a previous comment noticed Grover Norquist is on the board of GOProud which is interesting. He's kind of their peace maker among the few constituency groups that make up the conservative movement, and he's not stupid. I can hear Norquist telling Christopher Barron "Cenk's going to go after you with this social stuff, but don't let him get to you. Just stay on point and talk about..." Norquist is like most of the power players in the conservative movement, they are in the game to promote the conservative economic agenda which means making sure those with the capital keep all of it, and everyone else gets stuck with the tab. This video is a perfect example of what's wrong with us, and what we need to do to fix it. Compare what they're doing (Christopher Barron in this video) with what we're doing as Cenk deftly pointed out with "if you want to go foreward, you gotta put it in 'D'." And 'just keep telling them the facts and the figures and everyone will reason to the right conclusion,' which is thinking straight out of the 18th century and completely wrong. This is the disaster that is happening to us, when you have no cognitive policy.
