RACHEL: "It's none of these things. These things are all provably not what's going on. They're not bolstered by the facts, no matter how many times you hear them from the Beltway media. This is not what's happening.

It's the media dressing these guys up like there is some kind of coherent narrative here, like there is some kind of cogent argument here. THAT conveniently obscures what's REALLY going on here. Which is that we are on the precipice of elevating to federal office the most extreme, and in some cases, strange set of conservative candidates in a lifetime. Yes, this happened to a smaller degree before. In 1994, in the first midterm election after the last Democratic President was elected, we got a slate of candidates that included Helen Chenewith of Idaho and Steve Stockman of Texas. These two were so close to the militia movement in this country that Mr. Stockman actually received advance notice that the Oklahoma City bombing was going to happen.

There are extremist candidates who from time to time survive the churn of electoral politics and actually make it into the mainstream. There's always a few.

But there has never been this many.

NONE OF THIS (she points to the list of narratives) makes any sense.

We're JUST about to elect a whole bunch of EXTREMISTS. Unless things change in the next two weeks..."

She has substance to her show and researches much more than the others on the nightly news of MSNBC.

The problem is - incredibly - the Democrats are NOT running against this. The GOP is a cabal of fascists, Nazis, economy stranglers, kidnappers, Aqua Buddha cultists and witches and

THE DEMOCRATS ARE TOO F*CKING STUPID TO RUN AGAINST THIS.

When your opponent has a glass jaw the size of a large asteroid and you don't BELT HIM ONE politically, there is something wrong with you.

This is the problem. Never has the Democratic party faced such a bunch of misfits, cranks, creeps, weirdos, elderly-killers, economy stranglers and other maniacs

AND YET THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY INSISTS ON TREATING EVERY RACE LOCALLY WHILE THE GOP NATIONALIZES THE ELECTION WITH THEIR OWN CAPTION

namely, that all problems are the result of the very spending Democrats have voted for that is keeping us out of a depression.

And why shouldn't the GOP say that? After all, the spending is a giant pork barrel program and if the Democrats can get CREDIT for all that good funding of good things, we win. So the GOP has everybody's panties in a bunch saying that the spending is the PROBLEM when in fact it's the SOLUTION.

The problem is that our party is not running against all this insanity, killing Social Security etc. etc. and we are just treating each race locally instead of making a national issue of what

F*CKING MANIANCS

the Republicans are this election cycle.

Is the national Democratic Party EVER going to mention that the GOP this year is TOTALLY INSANE, a bunch of maniacs, kidnappers, cultists, witches and elderly stranglers?

Ooh no! All politics is local! We'll just sit over here in the corner while they take center stage and we won't bother ANYBODY!

We'll be good little boys and quiet as mice!

Please forgive us for painting the GOP as lunatic as a whole! We would never do that!

They have utterly failed in the messaging department and allowed the political spectrum to somehow move massively to the right by not flat out condemning a lot of the crazy shit that has been said by the republicans. The democrats and this administration failed to explain very clearly and very simply what it is they were doing at all times while going on the offensive against any ridiculous charges by the republicans.

even if we did a lot of good but nobody managed to explain it well to the American people, the fact remains that the GOP, seeing our weakness, managed to be overconfident and nominate the worst scoundrels in modern GOP history. Maybe if we had been fighting more up till now the GOP would have been more cautious about nominating such a bunch of criminals and weirdos. But what's done is done. We didn't do good messaging, the GOP or their rank and file, figured they didn't have anything to worry about, so they went ahead and nominated who they really WANTED to nominate ---fascists, Nazis, kidnappers, and Boston strangler elderly killers.

Regardless of how or why we got here, here we are and now we should be able to use all this to

SLAUGHTER

the Republicans.

Instead we are still meeping and moping in the corner apologizing and at best taking an occasional pot shot at the GOP. We act as if a political fight is not called fisticuffs.

For us it's called a fisticuff.
