14. This country needs deprogrammed, and maybe she could open
some small thought-controlled minds.

2. I am amazed at the rudeness of Randi Rhodes.
I normally find her entertaining and well spoken, but this performance was beyond the pale, IMO.
She had an important point she could have made from the high ground.
She failed to do so.

Randi, you were ill behaved and could have done so much for us all, but
this time you let us down. Please do better next time.

5. Odd. Normally I don't like her much but I thought....
... here she was as 'obnoxious' as she had to be to make her point. Larson kept avoiding the issue and trying to reframe the terms of the debate.

Rhodes was not having it: there is a direct connection between the right's anti-gay agenda and the fact that some people... in this case this basket-case-moronic RW senator... have to skulk around in the shadows looking for sexual fulfillment.

12. She's fine.
If Randi remains nice and polite, then Lars wins. Lars must not win.

Lars would also never sincerely be polite to Randi–unless he had to be.

Look, we can't win by being polite; the right will think we're patsies. We can't win by being aggressive; the right will blame us for not being polite. I've put up with right-wing bad manners for long enough that I think a little left wing bad manners is called for.

It's the only thing those bullies will even pay attention to.

3. The likely cause of some many Republicans
Edited on Wed Aug-29-07 10:23 PM by WileEcoyote
being caught having homosexual relations:

I. Something inside the GOP power structure is tottering and/or collapsed. Previously they'd been able to keep these things under wraps. No more!

Formerly an important GOP figure would get caught for solicitation but the arresting officer would get told to stifle it. He'd either be punished for writing a complaint or rewarded for forgetting about the whole thing.

Ditto the media: Those who ratted out the GOP rats were transferred, fired or their stories never made copy. Those who hid or edited it were promoted and given a raise or other perks.

None of this shit just suddenly happened. GOP Gays have always been doing what they're doing. They just no longer have enough insulation from the consequences.

Not so for a Democrat like Bill Clinton who broke no law.

Anyway Randi Rhodes beat the tar out of that asshole Lars Larson.

Part II.

The carrot and the stick kept Republicans in line in previous years. You can't normally make a person become as evil as say Tom Delay or George W. Bush. So the GOP "GETS THE GOODS" on the bastards. They either follow the corrupt crooked line, catch a few rewards along the way too, or they get outed.

In the case of George W. Bush i suspect that he probably killed some poor child or knocked up an under age Black woman. he does have a history of Alcoholism and Cocaine abuse. Really hard to avoid felonious behavior.

With Cheney they probably got pics of him with cattle and sheep. Goats too. From Wyoming anyway. gets lonely on the High Prairie. Then he learned to be evil without any prompting. He's just on automatic pilot now. Being a war criminal lying bastard comes naturally to him now. It's the way he can shoot his friend in the face and not care.

Liberals have been talked over for years by asshat conservatives. She's not taking their crap lying down anymore. She delivers an amazing amount of real information on her show and hammers away at it day after day. Merkans needs more like her on the air.

7. Randi gave the right wing a dose of their own medicine
She interrupted them when they tried to re-frame the argument and change the subject. It's great when you don't have Bill O'Reilly around to cut your mike.

8. We need more Randi Rhodes. Interesting how Larry King called Randi out 3X for overtalking -- !!!
How often have we seen that?

I agree with Randi that the other panelists don't get GOP repression as a centerpiece of Sen. Larry Craig's mania. Granted Craig was probably brainwashed really early on and so severely that he seems incapable of even giving himself a break now - not a single free breath.

And, did we think that Bushco were talking honest people into doing their dirty work -- ?
Think of sexual perverts like Clarence Thomas - !!!

And, I'd be happy if Randi were on 24/7 -- she's bright and a hard worker at staying informed and keeping us all informed. She's got a really firm understanding of what's been going on since always!!!

10. pretty good
She was spot ON at the end with her loud yelling rant - that was awesome - especially when the republican guy brought up JEFFERSON???!
she just needs to learn she doesn't need to make an audible "yes" and other comments whenever someone else makes a comment - we're not on the phone. What's with having FOUR people trying to talk on a subject you're only giving them a few minutes to talk about? 2 would have been better, 3 tops, b/c she did step over the bounds of good behavior there a bit. not that it's not done to every dem on faux news.

13. I agree with "a bit" -- she's somewhat new to this -- and re 4 people . . .
presume it's an effort to keep anyone from having enough time to really say anything meaningful?

18. true.. and GOOD point
she's new to this type of forum, and preventing them from saying something meaningful is rather funny, and probably true.

9. She talks over everyone all the time even though I like what she says
She lets her personality get in the way of her rhetoric. Content is the only difference between Rhandi and Melanie Morgan. Neither will shut up and listen for long and Melanie is insane but they discuss with the same tactics.
I heard the ship she took the cruise to Alska on is now getting repaired from the engine damage it sustained in dragging Rhandi's tremendous ego behind it the whole way. Many passengers exclaimed she could have left it at home but she just cannot separate herself from it. Rhandi firmly believes she's thought of everything first. Love what she's doing but she has issues about intelligence and ego. One often will not let the other operate. She would do better in a loving relationship so I hope she finds one for all the good she brings into the world. Now if she could just learn to shut up sometimes she's got something.

17. She would do better in a loving relationship -wtf?
is that supposed to mean? oh, yeah, a little of that love muscle and those uppity women will settle down. what century are you in?
i heard, many said,
if she learns to shut up she's got something.

dumb ass- she has something. a top rated radio show, and she is getting more calls to come on with these wingnuts because she does what she does- holds on to the conversation, and doesn't let them talk over HER with their spin.

thank gawd for her, i wish we could clone her.

11. We apologize about Lars Larson-for reals.
Edited on Thu Aug-30-07 02:57 AM by zehnkatzen
I've been a watcher of Portland TV for years, and Lars used to be a nice fella and a decent TV reporter.

He used to be a human being, now he's just a right-wing, empty-headed jerk.

He doesn't actually even live in Oregon anymore-he moved up to Vancouver, Washington.

So, in my capactiy as a native Oregonian...we're sorry.

It's about time we have someone who can speak clearly for us and tell it like it is. I agree, she needs to have her own show.
