the Politico reporter and the Boehner flak are separate people, though it's hard to tell.

"I hear it on the Hill, I'm sure you hear it on the Hill all the time, it's not reported, but so many Republicans tell me this is a guy that is not the hardest worker in the world," said Scarborough on Wednesday's edition of Morning Joe. "Every Republican I talk to says John Boehner, by 5 or 6 o'clock at night, you can see him at bars. He is not a hard worker."

(...)

Boehner spokesman Michael Steel offered reaction to Scarborough's remarks in a statement e-mailed to Politico:

"Boehner grew up with 11 brothers and sisters, and his dad owned a bar, but the only time he's 'around town' these days is to raise money for our House Republican team. Thus far this year, he's headlined more than 230 events and raised about $27 million. And that's just the beginning."

1. He looks and sounds drunk, a lot, to me.
Why is he speaker?? Doesn't seem to have any talents.

5. He is a drunk!
I too have heard him talking and he sure sounds like he had been drinking to me, and I am a recovering alcoholic, clean and sober for going on 25 years, I work with people who have alcohol addictions, I have a degree in alcohol counseling, and I would be good money the man has a drinking problem!

Hell of Joe hears it from "every" republican, and brings it up on his show, there must be a problem with that most republicans aren't happy about. Do we want that man to be third in line to become the president? I don't think so!

There is so much ammo out there on the republicans, all their comments that show they support big oil and the other corporations, their apology to BP, the ant comment Boehner made about the economy, and on and on. All the democrats need to do is get clips of them saying this stuff, use Joe's words in this clip to show how the rest of the republicans feel about the Boehner being in charge, and let the public figure things out for themselves!

Democrats need to be on the attack, not waiting for the republicans to start forcing them to defend themselves! For once beat them at their own game and make "them" be in the position of having to defend their behavior!

How could a nonpartisan editor do that?

3. For Joey Scar, it's about his ratings. I'm speculating that Joe has realized
when he recently started to sort of, mildly take the Left's POV on a few subjects (praising POTUS for example) his numbers may have gone up. I'm not sure of that but I'm guessing he's testing a different tact here to see how it adds up...LOL.

6. Maybe he is floating a "trial balloon" for the Republicans
Maybe they are trying to figure out a way to dump Boehner.

That's my conspiracy theory of the day.

4. Very Damning toward Bonehead, Gee...maybe
we can get him out of DC by January.

Even Republicans don't want a drunk representing them!!!

If this story has legs, it will kill Bonehead in his own district.

10. There is no way a Democrat will be elected in the 8th...
congressional district in Ohio. I live in Mason, OH (2nd congressional district) next door to where "Boner" lives and I can tell you he will win in the general election. There are a lot of bat-shit right-wing nut cases in his district. The only way he will be replaced is if he loses a primary election and I really don't see that happening. Anyone who crosses him in the republican party in his district would pay dearly.

how much money he can raise for reelections.

9. Did you see the video of the interview he did with Richard Mellon Scaife's paper?
Rachel Maddow showed clips last night. He looked drunk and not happy to be doing the interview, as if he had a double scotch waiting for him off- camera. His answers were slow and not exactly impressive. He always reminded me of a caricature of a slimy used car salesman.

13. Explains everything
That's why Scarborough went after him this morning. He basically admitted that they want to raise the retirement age to 70 and start to dismantle social security. You are not allowed to say that in public, especially the leader of the party in the house. They want him run out of town and Scarborough is the man to start that train.

14. As I've said before, we should have breathalysers on the floors of both houses and
members should be required to use them before speaking. We won't stop them from speaking, we'll just post their blood alcohol level on C-span as they speak.

16. En vino veritas
Hell, if you were the House GOP Leader you'd probably want to stay drunk too. We would certainly get more truth and less hypocritical BS from our politicians if they were all half gassed at least half the time.
