Another poster noted this was set in Prescott, Arizona, and it strikes me as particularly worthy as a reminder to the DU community of some of the reasons why we are here in the first place.

Let's not forget.

2. It also was filmed near Santa Fe, New Mexico
I went to high school with all the teenage folks in the flix. Here are the place the IMDB list:

Eaves Movie Ranch - 105 Rancho Alegre Road, Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA
Imperial County, California, USA
Los Alamos, New Mexico, USA
Prescott, Arizona, USA

They didn't mention Las Vegas, New Mexico. I always remembered that a fight scene was filmed on the Plaza in Santa Fe, but when I watched a while back, I realized it was actually Las Vegas. There are also place in Santa Fe where they filmed like the campus of the Indian School on Cerillos Road near where I grew up.

I love this movie, not simply because it takes me back to a Santa Fe before it was invaded and trashed out OR not simply because it takes me back to a time and place of my youth and the people I knew at the time, but because it really inspired me as a young person to stand up for what is right.
