3. Is there anything that can be used to reference scale?
Without anything to use as a reference for scale, it's hard to see the opening as any bigger than a car sunroof, which I'm sure it must be.

8. BP says it now has a siphon inside the pipe ......
,as shown here. They claim they are recovering 20% of the flow. Obviously they are lying. Plus all the dispersant they are pouring on the surface is causing the oil to be suspended under the surface, as they try to cover up the severity of their crime.

13. Aw, don't criticize BP.
Say you've got a gushing fire hydrant. How to stop it up?

Simple. Stick a drinking straw in the thing.

That'll work.

Same with the BP oil leak.

The siphon pipe proves BP is workin' HARD ---

drillin' fer oil!!!!!

Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!
Drill baby drill !!!!!

Now everybody forget about the oil leak and stop saying corporations are bad.

They're all American. Just like BP. Bein' as how BP is a right good American company from, uh, England......

It's un-American to be against oil drilling.

9. Check this out: compare the beginning and the end of that clip.
It appears that this is footage of the time when the siphon actually was connected.

The linked video is 2:44 seconds long. At the beginning, the black oil spew is boiling out of the pipe and off the screen to the right.

By the end of the clip, you can still see the black cloud, but it's now moving directly up at what appears to be a reduced volume. At the same time, the majority of what is being emitted from the pipe changes color from black to white. There is still an incredible amount of leakage, but does anyone know what these color and volume changes mean?

16. I'm guessing that the white is gas
When a burp of gas comes through, it quickly reacts with the water to form clathrate, which would be a whitish semi-solid stuff. Remember, that's what clogged up their dome collection attempt.

10. I'm wondering if that small pipe is actually spraying dispersants into the pipe, not sucking oil

and the change in color I believe I have read elsewhere is due to pockets of methane which occasionally get caught up in the pipe

Edited on Tue May-18-10 03:04 PM by TatonkaJames
This tells how much is still leaking even with the pipe inserted; They're still lying - bring them to jail now

15. In California, if I remember correctly, a landlord has the right to entry
on the premises upon adequate notice. Doesn't always get it, but I think that is what is allowed. Am I right about this? Is anyone certain?

I think the problem is getting equipment down that deep without causing more problems. Also, the government does not want to take on the liability or responsibility for this.

If you burn your landlord's house down, you will pay.
