2. Yet another example of rightwingers not really reading the text.
whether it's "Born in the USA", the Bible, or now "Barracuda", clearly they have no ability (or, hell, even desire) to actually read the text.

3. unfortunately, they probably can use the song as long as they did it thru youtube

that is why the 'buy the song' link appears during the first part of the video... just so you don't think youtube didn't follow up on your report

4. Definition of a barracuda:
I especially love this part (except the inquisitive party doesn't fit): "Barracudas are bold and inquisitive, and fearsome fishes, that may be dangerous to humans. The great barracuda is known to have been involved in attacks on swimmers. In Hawaii, they have been known to inhabit open waters and bay areas in the shadows, under floating objects. To avoid them, don't wear shiny objects. They are attracted to shiny, reflective things that look like dinner. They cause harm with their sharp jagged teeth and strong tearing jaws; slashing and creating jagged tears in your skin.

Should you or another be hurt by one - get medical treatment. Stop any bleeding with pressure and, if necessary, treat for shock by keeping yourself or the victim calm and warm."

5. The Lyrics-
Edited on Tue Apr-13-10 12:32 PM by WhoIsNumberNone
You can see which ones the Republicans most likely latch onto (italics), but some are pretty ironic (bolded)

So this ain't the end- I saw you again - today
I had to turn my heart away
You smiled like the sun- kisses for everyone
And tales- it never fails!

You're lying so low in the weeds
I bet you're gonna ambush me
You'd have me down, down, down, down on my knees
Now wouldn't you, barracuda?

OH!

Back over time when we were all trying for free
You met the porpoise and me
No right, no wrong, you're selling a song- a name
Whisper game

And if the real thing don't do the trick
You better make up something quick
You gonna burn, burn, burn, burn, burn it to the wick
Ooooh, barracuda!

OH!

'Sell me sell you' the porpoise said
Dive down deep down, deeper than
You.. I think that you got the blues too

All that night and all the next
Swam without looking back
Made for the western pools- silly, silly fools!

The real thing don't do the trick, no?
You better make up something quick
You gonna burn, burn, burn, burn, burn it to the wick
Ahh, barra- barracuda!

So, Italics = Sarah Palin to the Republicans, Bold = Sarah Palin to me.

Also I must comment that this whole 'slideshow set to music' genre of videos are what I consider the least imaginative, least creative, laziest work on YouTube. And not just when Republicans are doing them to idolize Sarah Palin- I find them all pretty unwatchable.

6. I don't see a barracuda...
Edited on Tue Apr-13-10 01:15 PM by AlbertCat
.... just a dead bear on the sofa and a dead crab on the coffee table (classy!)..... and a parrot inbetween.

BTW...the definition actually is kinda apt:

Barracuda:
a large predatory tropical marine fish with slender body and large jaws and teeth.

The only thing not true about Sarah is the tropical part.
