1. May are feeling powerless and despair
Two huge point. If a person thinks he has nothing to lose they can become real dangerous. And the last time I remember a people being told to "eat cake" they decided to bite their leaders in the rear. The French revolution was started by a middle class that was up against teh wall money wise.

5. Only a person with serious mental problems...
...could think this was in any way justified by current events. People have felt poor, powerless, and despairing in this country and others since time immemorial. Only a poor, pathetic few choose to demonstrate this desperation by snuffing out innocent human lives.

Yeah, I remember how the French Revolution started with a lone nut crashing his stolen airplane into a local government building. Somewhat more accurately, I remember how the French Revolution ENDED, too...

6. There were not planes during the French Revolution
Acts of desperate anger did happen as forerunners to the French revolution. Desperate folks do desperate things; Very angry desperate folks do very angry desperate things. The immense desperation in this country is beginning to be felt in desperate acts and this is one of them. Folks can be driven to insanity by desperation and this was desperation driven insanity. Hmmmm did I forget to mention desperation?

8. Then we're nothing but a nation of cowards and wimps and sheep...
...because our country has been through FAR worse. We have a Civil War and a Great Depression in our recent past--to go all cockeyed apocolypse-now nihilist and fly planes into buildings or applaud those who do because of recent events is pure weak-mindedness.

10. I am stating a fact. Something you can't seem to get your mind around
the fact that desperate people do desperate things. The statement of a fact is not a canonization of such deplorable acts. This was an act of insanity as I clearly stated. Desperation can and has driven folks to insanity; This is one such misguided act.

13. this guy was rendered desperate from acts he chose to engage in
Edited on Fri Feb-19-10 03:08 PM by SemperEadem
not from things outside his sphere of control.

He chose to start two companies which he then chose to not pay taxes on. No one ordered him to start those businesses. It was a free will choice on his part. He is no more insane than the pope is jewish... this was an act of willfullness on his part. Period.

He, like Sam Wurtzlepretzel, fucked himself over by not doing what he was supposed to do and now he wants to blame everyone but himself for the situation he's in. If he didn't like it here, he was free to leave the country and take his stupidity elsewhere, but he doesn't get a pass for trying to kill innocent people just because he refused to obey the law and pay his taxes.

2. We all know about the frustration. The problem is getting the people
to understand who to blame. In their short year into this mess it is crazy to blame the Obama Administration for anything other than that he is not moving away from the policies of the last administration fast enough.

3. What I can figure out about people is
they let bush do all this...we did not see tea bags and right wing blow hards screaming and slurring around. But as soon as Obama won the election they expected him to correct everything bush had done almost instants. I grant you the congress is moving slow. The are afraid of the republicans and won't push ahead. And the republicans are filibustering and putting holds on all things possible. BUT IF THE DEMOCRATS GOT THEIR BUTTS IN GEAR
jumped right over the dead wood they could get more done.

But there is absolutely positively no excuse for a man or woman to try to kill people who are in no way responsible for his problems. No body ever goes after the higher ups they go after the every day working person.

And I think the FBI is not handling their job, for not going after crazies such as that Capps in Washington state. They never even answered my email when I reported about her.

9. The Bay State Ken doll is an idiot
People do not fly airplanes into buildings because they're 'frustrated'. They do that because they're mentally ill.

I can't believe for one second that Scott Brown's election to office would have convinced this guy not to burn down his house and attack the IRS building.
