I looked up this video because we saw SiCKO the other day. In it, MM spoke to a middle-aged, white, male, Canadian golfer who is all in favour of our healthcare system. He even cited the CBC's contest for Greatest Canadian that Tommy won for bringing in socialized medicine. Moore asked him if he was a member of "the Canadian socialist party" and he said he's, in fact, a Conservative.

Heck, sometimes laws that are good for mice can be good for cats, too.

I want SiCKO to be a smash hit in Canada, too. Tommy warned us that we need to be always vigilant in order to protect what he won for us. This movie will help wake people up.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Jack. He has to be careful when he strays away from the grassroots, like that boner he pulled with reverse onus on gun crime.
And I do SO wish the party would fire the communications people, or at least light a fire under their butts.

5. Jack Bauer makes torture look efficient and effective

I have to stick my finger down my throat when I see popular TV shows depict torture as an acceptable form of interrogation. And with so many people unable to tell fiction from fact, I despair.

But that is the character Jack Bauer. The actor Kiefer Sutherland is, in fact, not a Democrat, he's a social democrat or, as we call 'em here in Canada, a New Democrat.

Kiefer comes from a family of actors. His mum is Shirley Douglas, daughter of Tommy Douglas, who is the narrator in the video.

His father is Donald Sutherland who is most famous, IMHO, for his role in Space Cowboys where he told Jay Leno that he wants to explore "every woman's infinite capacity for orgasm".
