1. Franken supports it. To the skeptics: If you don't trust a strong progressive voice like Franken
who believes that this is on balance good legislation, not sure you've really looked into it very closely or are holding out for unattainable ideals. Even the industry whistle-blower Wendall Potter agrees that this bill should move forward.

2. I still believe
there are very few people who don't believe this bill should move forward. I have read a couple of comments here and there on DU saying it shouldnt but even a shitty giveaway to the insurance company which this bill essentially is, will cover millions of more people and do things like get rid of the pre-existing condition. I support even a shitty bill and hope that it will be improved upon later.

it.

5. I trust Frankin....he sees as many of us are beginning to see,
that defeat is marginally worse than a very bad bill, where nothing good was truthfully fought for and the bad readily, if not eagerly, accepted without much or any resistance except that for grandstanding, show and noise. The bargaining chips we had were carelessly thrown in the gutter in order that the bad could prevail without resistance except that for show. Losing this "battle" which has been more of a kabuki theater, however, would mean certain defeat in the coming elections; Though it is also a gamble whether a bad bill might also mean defeat at the voting booth even though it's enaction is slated far in the future, safely after O's final election. It is a gamble predicated on the worker bees remaining ignorant until they get hit in the gut. A prudent move on O's part. When folks start getting penalized for not forking over billions, that many will not have over food and shelter and a meager existance, to the UNREGULATED insurance thugs for very little in return, the shit will hit the fan, big time.

7. This is far from over, and unfortunately it will only get worse as the..........
.............bill bounces down the legislative highway. The Dems caved on this whole healthcare reform. They deserve to get beat in next years elections. How is it that Bush got so many of his policies enacted even when the Dems had control of the Senate for a couple of those years and control of the House & Senate since 2006? He forced his policies through and got it enacted. It's been almost a year and what the fuck has been done that's REALLY worthwhile? You can't blame the "independents" for voting Republican next year.
