is through the Democratic party after that it slams shut and if the positive stuff don't get done this time it could shut for good. It's all about staying in the game as long as there is the possibility to wrong the rights we have to at least try. Sure, no question it's difficult and despairing, but there's only now it may not happen again. I think once health care reform is passed that will be the time to DADT. These proposals are just consitutionally wrong and regressive, but the supreme court is not ready to change that. This is where patience has, to come into play, but it will, pay off. A lot of what folks want will come in a long scale period but as Hartmann always, always says despair is not an option. It's not an emotion we can work with or gift to hand to next generation ahead is push, push all the way. Certianly President Obama could be lot of things to a lot of people so it's those that make the loudest noise that will be heard, maybe not in teabag kind of way but at least in a presence sort of way. Thy GLBT movement has to be everywhere all the time in everyones face. THe point of equality has to be repeated regularly and passionately in every media outlet, with emotions in check and comparisons to equality made sexism and race. All people being equal is very American and patriotic, use their trigger words.

| 2. Let me ask a simple question |

The one thing that has puzzled me about things like DADT is that it seems like it would be easy for him to accomplish. Can't he just put it into action? It seems very different than healthcare reform, where you have obstacle after obstacle. In the case of things like DADT, can't he just do it? Do you think he is waiting for a time closer to 2010 so that it will help in the elections?

| 3. The President Can (And SHOULD, But He Won't) Suspend DADT, But He Can't End It. |
 |
It's a law. It must be repealed by Congress. As Commander in Chief, Obama can suspend the investigation and enforcement of DADT while we have troops in harms way (which we apparently will for a few decades to come). He has chosen not to do so, because he's a hypocrite.

| 4. Obama has disappointed many, particularly the gay and lesbian community. |

Where is his backbone?
I guess he thinks 2013 is soon enough to do anything on this issue, AFTER he is re-elected.
