Source: Carrie Prejean 'sex tape' spurred pageant settlement

Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- The sudden end to a legal battle between dethroned Miss California USA Carrie Prejean and pageant officials was prompted by the revelation of a "sex tape," according to a source familiar with the lawsuits' settlement.

Prejean was fired in June after lingerie-modeling photos of her emerged that pageant officials said were a breach of her contract. Prejean sued the pageant in August, arguing her firing was religious discrimination because of her opposition to same-sex marriage.

Pageant officials countersued last month, demanding their former beauty queen repay $5,200 in pageant money spent for her breast implants and give them all proceeds from a book she's written.

A settlement of both lawsuits was signed in New York Tuesday, but no details were made public. Lawyers and parties for each side were bound by a confidentiality pledge, according to the source.

The veil of secrecy was partially lifted Wednesday after celebrity gossip Web site TMZ reported the deal was sealed after pageant lawyers presented an "extremely graphic" home video involving Prejean.

TMZ Managing Editor Harvey Levin said during a webcast Wednesday that he obtained the Prejean video during the summer, but found it "too racy" to post on his site. He indicated Prejean was alone in the video.

1. Turk is wrong on one point...
Her comment on gay marriage didn't "blow the pageant for her"; she won, remember?

It was her refusal to show up to events and represent the pageant that cost her the crown (though all those embarassing topless photos may have played a role)

Turk is right, though, about her hypocrisy in preaching morality and Christian values while doing anytning but. I live in Prejean's hometown, and it astounds me that are still people who believe this is all about bashing her over her anti-gay marriage remarks.

2. She didn't win
Edited on Thu Nov-05-09 05:38 AM by WhoIsNumberNone
I think she came in second- but she was still Miss California, and it was in that capacity that she wasn't showing up to events which led to her being fired.

BTW- I couldn't be happier to learn she has a sex tape. Losing the crown was the best thing that could have happened to her: as the new darling of the right-wing media, it was holding her back. She couldn't take a job at Fox "News" (as I predicted she would within a year) while she was still Miss California. Being stripped of the crown not only freed her from her obligation, but also gave her another "injustice" inflicted on her by the liberal mafia. This sex tape could throw a monkey wrench into all of that. Let's see her blame this one on Barack Obama.

4. She would be a great addition to the cast on FOX.
Carrie Prejean and O'Reilly could team up and produce some really steamy stuff. They could have a split scene with him jacking off and shoving things up his fat ass while phoning her as she performs with her dildo. They could call it Dueling Dildos. Strange that both have something in common in that they both lost in lawsuits over their perverse sexual addictions. Don't you love these right wing sanctimonious freaks?

This just shows how hypocritical these reactionary luddites are! They want sex for themselves whatever way they want it, on or off screen, but woah to anyone else wanting to enjoy their adult consensual sex life in a different way.

11. My dream scenario:
The sex tape is a lesbian scene with Elizabeth Hasselback or one of the Fox "News" Barbies- thereby making it all the more scandalous. (You can be sure if this were the case it would be flying off the shelves in red states)

8. I smell
personality disorder somewhere in this mix. I watched her eyes bug out and those mock expressions of outrage during some speech video posted here. I thought that creature is only beautiful if she isn't opening her mouth. Her facial expressions make her ugly with all the hate she oozes. She needs to practice that 'incredulous' look a little more.

how they are quote on quote sin free. It is about time religious fanatics except sex as human nature. Americans need to stop being so uptight when it comes to sex. Europe isn't and their teen birth rate is lower. We are uptight and offended by everything. Let's be honest, alot of guys would like to hit that. This how guys think. It is human nature.

NO MENTION of the SEX TAPE

The legal war between former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean and pageant organizers is over.

A joint statement released Tuesday says Prejean and the organizers of the pageant reached a confidential settlement on dueling lawsuits.

Prejean sued Miss California USA organizers in August for libel, slander and religious discrimination. She accused them of telling her to stop mentioning God even before her controversial remarks against gay marriage.

Prejean was fired in June after pageant officials accused her of missing events, an allegation that she denied. The pageant countersued Prejean last month.

The statement says Prejean and the pageant "wish each other the best in their future endeavors."

The next Miss California USA will be crowned Nov. 22.

13. What must James Dobson and Focus on the Family think?!
What must Dr. James Dobson and his Focus on the Family cronies be thinking right about now? Remember how they held Carrie Prejean out as the ideal of Christian womanhood? I read an opinion piece http://wp.me/pChUJ-5C by an evangelical preacher (believe it or not) who used to work in Christian Radio. He talks about how Dobson is notorious in broadcasting for his defensiveness, his screwed-up priorities, and his weird obsession with church-ified celebrities. He also gives an insider's look at the sweetheart relationship between Dobson, Focus on the Family, and this pitiful, disgraced beauty queen. Turns out even some Christians have had enough of Dobson and Prejean.
