Has Grayson ever defended them (and so strongly) before? I was really taken aback, although I guess I see some political upside. Still, it was surprising.

But Grayson has quite the political dog in the fight. If conservadems are holding the purse strings in 2010 (dccc support, etc.), he may need to walk back some of his firebrand antics.

im not suggesting he should, but it cant be too comfortable in the congressional cafeteria right now....

Grayson has shown he's a smart, progressive fighter so he OF COURSE he knows the truth about the conservadems. His statements in this interview cut both ways, although my immediate reaction was to be a little disappointed.

But I understand the politics of it, and he's still a million times better than the vast majority of his colleagues, with few exceptions.

I hope not.

I really like what he has been doing but I am very upset that he is not condemning this joke of a bill and is actually taking up for blue dogs.

Democrats need a victory, but this bill would only be a political victory, And would not be a victory for the american people.

In fact, this bill makes things much worse.
Mandate insurance on people who are already having a hard time and not offering them a public option.
This is the insurance companys dream bill.
And if obama signs it then he is a sell-out and I will vote against him if he runs again.

I am starting to regret voting for change if this is the change he had in mind.

UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE FOR ALL!!!
NOT FORCING AMERICANS TO PAY INSURANCE CEO SALARYS.

THIS BILL GOES AGAINST EVERYTHING MANY OF US HAVE BEEN FIGHTING FOR.

I was disappointed in that part of the interview as well, but I'm keeping it in context of everything else. Hopefully Grayson is finding the right balance of playing the politics and being a strong progressive.

29. Grayson has much to teach us..... as I've been saying, and he said, "Reasonable

people can disagree."

We get so used to the bashing and attacking on DU that we forget that very important principle.

Listen to his voice---it oozes concern, it projects understanding and caring. If we can follow in his footsteps we will be a much better forum. (Not to mention..... he talks good, but he is also taking action.... something very rare on DU!)

He has to work with the blue dogs every day, and must keep the lines of communication open. I have no doubt that in the end, there will be transformations in some of the blue dogs because of Rep. Alan Grayson!

We *don't* have to work with them--as a matter of fact, they work for us, so it's up to US to push the blue dogs.

23. I was initially confused by Rep. Grayson's defense

of the blue dogs, emphasis on dogs, but ihavenobias seems to allude correctly in a previous post, Grayson is playing chess while those of us who want heads to roll may not see the entire picture. I am giving his opinions the benefit of the doubt and I am glad that Cenk did too. (Although, I STILL want heads to roll, starting with Liebershit's)
