Yeah...and the oxycontin reference is a hateful slur against people with substance abuse issues. And calling him "Limpballs" is grossly insensitive toward people with limp balls. And the "short bus" reference elsewhere in this thread is unbelievably offensive to the developmentally disabled...

Holy crow. You are kidding, right? No...you're not kidding. This is why I don't visit DU much anymore. Seriously--the poster was making fun of Limbaugh, not fat people. Holy shit. Even though I don't feel the same way I can at least see where the people who get pissed off about "Man Coulter" are coming from. But this...good God.... 20. Actually - the pill thing annoys the crap out of me, but I'll tell you why..

..to often people 'assume' that someone (like myself) that has to take it, is abusing it. I suffer from a shit load of discrimination because of the medicine *I* have to take to live each day. "just a junkie", "looking for a doctor feel-good" shit gets old fast. And, while personally never been obese, close family of mine are and they are treated like shit by doctors and the public too. So, while I do see what you are saying. Some things get old. I imagine, if I had a child that had to ride 'the short bus' *that* sort of humour would wear on me too.

who are complaining about "fat jokes", in particular, but your
mocking sarcasm seems to extend beyond that by drawing mocking
comparisons with, for example, invoking a deity.

The problem is this: your "sarcasm" doesn't seem to be "hitting the mark".
It seem more like the "flailing" of a person who can't quite articulate
what he is flailing against.
