The sound is a little out of sync, but the message is crucial.

I wonder how many of our candidates for president could truthfully run a commercial like this.

His words in case you miss them:

"I don’t represent the big oil companies. I don’t represent the big pharmaceutical companies. I don’t represent the Enrons of this world. But you know what? They already have great representation in Washington. It’s the rest of the people that need it.”

1. He didn't like government operating like the Mafia.
Good reminder of what values & goals our government officials should have.

11. Paul Wellstone was a very good man, but I don't buy into the tinfoil hattery.

Sometimes planes crash.

If you claim it was something other than an accident, you need to prove it. Weird theories about EMPs downing a small plane are just that--theories. Well, actually, they're more like wacky hypotheses.

12. They killed him. No doubt here. Just like anthrax only went to dems right
before the vote on the homeland security bill. Made them all a little scared. It was too convenient when wellstone died, then they took control of the senate which was necessary to pull off the PNAC plan of creating a "pearl harbor-like event."

7. Remember the Tombstone ad they ran against him in his last campaign? PIC
Kind of telegraphing their punch.

14. Worse than that,
Shortly before Wellstone was killed, Cheney directly threatened his life.

"At a meeting full of war veterans in Willmar, Minn., days before his death, Wellstone told attendees that Cheney told him, "If you vote against the war in Iraq, the Bush administration will do whatever is necessary to get you. There will be severe ramifications for you and the state of Minnesota."

Wellstone cast his vote for his conscience and against the Iraq measure, the only Democrat involved in a tough 2002 election campaign to do so. And a few weeks later on Oct. 25, as he appeared to be winning his re-election bid, Wellstone, his wife, Sheila, his daughter, Marcia Markuson, three campaign staffers, and two pilots died in a plane crash in Minnesota.

5. One thing the Senate could have done to honor Wellstone
was pass the Clean Money, Clean Elections Act.

It's not too late.

8. it's ironic cuz around the time that the far right was trying to consolidate their power...
I was personally pushed from being a Bill Clinton Democrat to a lot further left. By over-reaching, the right gave a lot of us a wake up call when we might have stayed asleep for the rest of our lives.
