9. Playing right into our hands

We've got no problem with a health care bill of rights. It's a good idea. Spell it out. Under single payer no one can be denied care. Good idea.

10. Their ideas might be a start, but fall seriously short

Unfortunately their announcement of this bill of rights isn't an oath swearing that they will agree to fund Medicare and the VA Healthcare system to at least current levels. They need to agree to increase medicare reimbursement for primary care providers.

Other missing items:

Guaranteed insurability. Heathcare insurance companies shall refuse coverage to anybody.

Prohibition against policy recision. Except for premium payment a heath insurance company shall not be able to rescind a policy.

Prohibition against lifetime maximums.

Definition of what must be included for a policy to be called 'Health Insurance'
We don't need to see policies written that will cover hangnails after a five million dollar deductible is met.

The most important thing is to make the RNC put their money where their mouths are and force them to adequately fund what is covered in their 'Bill of Rights'
