I happened to catch two of these shows over the weekend mainly to see how bad they were. Truth be told they are getting better but that is from a really low mark. Dennis Miller has found the end of TV networks apparently.

This piece is rather disgusting. 9/11 is one of the few things in life that most people shy away from in any way that could possibly be considered as disrespectful or whimsical....well everyone except the "Fox News 1/2 Hour Comedy Hour" and Lorenzo Lamas. :eyes:

Aaaawwwwwkkkkwwwwaaaarrrrdddddd!

How incredibly stiff and badly done.
Everyone knows that it was Saddam who was behind the 9/11 attacks, and that the WMDs were moved to Syria and.......

not many actors his age can continue to pull off the long hair look. And his comedic chops, he's still got it.

7. We know who perpetrated 9/11. * was supposed to have
prevented this tragedy, acted immediately to the situation in a decisive
manner, and followed the leader of this nasty plot to root out the
reasons for the deaths and destruction, then brought them to justice
through US and International law. But he has backed away from Osama,
and along with his other deceptions has lulled this once fiercely
peaceful proud country into a shallow fearful self absorbed single
minded monopoly.

Sad, that the rw who defend the powerful do not realize that this
country was meant to support the freedoms and quality of life for
all, evan those in lowly and desperate situations. They are aghast at
other nations who don't provide open government and push government
controlled media.

It is also sad to see these actors leave their ability to see an overview of this administration at the door and launch their images into the smoke and mirrored studios of FOX.

8. Seems this show is a final resting place for the careers of Never-Quite-Beens...
Lorenzo Lamas, and that guy from that obscure, syndicated SciFi series that never quite made it. Bad acting on top of bad writing; this bit seemed scarcely better than what some elementary school kids could produce. (Though it may well prove successful to their target audience... Fox News viewers... who have the analytical ability and need for reassurance as that of grade schoolers.)

9. A "highlight" in this pathetic neocon type of humor...
Honest to God, I would expect the canned laughter to cease with such a pathetic script. Maybe they just expect people to watch so that we can see for ourself just how f*cked up these neocon minds are.

11. Sad
Sadder still is that all that smoke and mirrors have prevented anyone from finding out how it was that it could have happened. Not once or twice but 4 times with no defense. I'm beyond caring who did it, and I'm pretty sure why, but I still see no one in any position of power being held to account for a massive failure of defense.

16. 4 airplanes unaccounted for almost 1 hr....
... in what is supposed to be the most densely defended airspace in the war.
... the vice president running that same week a training exercise involving a hijacking scenario.
... Atta's passport seemed to be indestructible as it survived not only the crash but the collapse of WTC, whereas the blackboxes which are supposed to be made of reinforced materials... somehow were pulverized.
... one of the most surveyed buildings in the world, the pentagon, and not a single camera did capture the crash of the jet.
... A bunch of goat herders with almost no flying time were able to not only pilot four large jetliner, but crash/land three of them with absolute precision.
... The family of the mastermind of the operation was a major investor in an early business venture by the president.
... A presidency which was in the toilet before 9/11 suddenly gets a "gift" from the gods.
... Bush somehow always seems to be at the right place at the right time, what a lucky guy.
... A botched invasion of a country that did not attacked us, thousands dead on false intelligence, no WMDs to be found, and Saddam possibly replace by future pro-Iranian regimes.
... Where is Osama?
... Katrina, anatomy of a cluster fuck.
... Oil prices at all time high, debt at an all time high, American industry in tatters...

So far not a single investigation/resignation regarding the biggest failures in American intelligence and armed involvement: 9/11 and Iraq. Not a single investigation/resignation at the top level regarding the biggest failure of the American government to deal with a natural tragedy: Katrina.

So spare me the laugh for these fuckwits, the same idiots who spend $50M+ investigating a blow job, some fired travel agents, and a two bit real state deal. Yeah, real brain trust behind that comedy gold...

15. They seem to think that they are making fun of conspiracy theorists
in fact they are showing how little they care about human life and the extent to which they still ridiculous take credit for 9/11.

You are right the writing is horrible. The lead news bit had some short takes on news items that were getting closer to funny but still it falls short.

22. What do they think winning will be?
How can winning the war be defined? It's so sad, they're dreaming the impossible dream. How ironic that they make fun of those who want to cut the losses.

17. Well, that was mildly amusing for what it was
Thing is, I'm not sure what it was meant to be. Was it supposed to be mocking conspiracy theorists by having Lamas play one (and I don't care what you think, I liked him in Renegade and I still think he's sexy) or was it meant to be mocking the official explanation for 9/11? And is 9/11 really a suitable subject for parody anyway?

Like I said, mildly amusing but I don't think Stewert and Colbert are going to be losing any sleep.

18. This is obviously the less flattering form of imitation
It's such an obvious, transparent attempt to squeeze into the 24-hour-news, comedy send up routine. This show proves only that Fox just doesn't get "it," doesn't get what made Stewart/Colbert so popular in the first place. Probably because Fox didn't think there was anything wrong with cable news, doesn't see that Stewart, and a great many other people, were tired of being force fed the same drivel. Fox doesn't see how their shows are drivel. Fox doesn't see that Stewart was only using parody as a way of decrying networks like, well, Fox. That's why they don't get Colbert and Stewart and that's why the "1/2 Hour News Hour" is about as funny as "Blue Collar TV."

<cough, cough> What a loser....just like the total show. Watched it tonight and I'm surprised they can dig up these skanky "comedians". They laugh so hard at this stupid crap, and yet I didn't hear one thing I thought was the least bit "humorous", let alone funny. Pathetic.

Clearly a show testing it's audience while trying to copy Jon and Co. But not to worry.. Most of the FOX "diddo head" viewers won't get it anyway.

24. They're modeling Colbert's...
...style of satire to ridicule 9-11 Truthers, however, satire that targets truth tellers is much more difficult to pull off (plenty of laugh tracks required) than when taking aim at the much more deserving actual crooks, liars, and idiots.
