6. Oh, then you're a fan of ME
because I was one, and in fact lived in San Francisco a couple of years after this video was made, right on Haight Street, Haight and Broderick. :hippie:

20. I think a matchbox would have been enough to get ol' Harry ...
to loosen that tie and pull the stick out of his ass.

You may remember him from 60 Minutes.

15. You're showing your age. That wasn't RW back then. That was Mainstream.
There was no RW/LW then. Some were just more conservative than others. The hippies (as well as The Beatles) scared them ALL to death! These were the days when women became wives and men went to work. Free thought, pardon the pun, was unthinkable.

19. No offense meant.. You're 55 and you didn't recognize Harry Reasoner?
I'm 55 also, grew up in the sticks in OK and still think I saw that when it was aired. I was more interested in the new Mustangs than much of anything else at the time though. :)

13. I have a story that relates to this. I had been to the eye doctor
and he dilated my eyes. After my visit I knew I shouldn't drive because I couldn't see that well. I smoked a little something to relax and went into the local book store/coffee shop until my eyes cleared up. I was seeing kinda of a halo around things.
I was standing at the magazine rack browsing music articles when I noticed a man standing beside me. I got a little closer and realized it was Phil Lesh. I asked him if he was in fact Phil Lesh and he was rather nice and said he had just finished playing Bonnaroo. I'm surprised I could even speak. I was stunned when I first saw him. Because I was a little stoned plus seeing a glow around Phil Lesh because of my dilated eyes I thought I was seeing a vision. There was Phil Lesh with a glow like a halo around his head like an angel. It was definitely a psychedelic moment for me.

14. That was great! Ol' Harry sure sounds worried in the end...
Scarrrryyyyy Hippies!

Summer of '67. I was in 7th Grade making fun of the girls who were gaga over The Beatles and more interested in the new Mustangs than anything else. Funny how the closer you get to being drafted the more politically active you get. 5 years later I voted for the first time and it was against Nixon.

Thanks for the clip.

22. moving the whole human race a half a step
yes, change takes time. you had to live in the 50s to know why the 60s happened.
the pendulum swings back and forth. slowly.
