13. ed schultz
Ed Schultz switched his way of thinking about 8 or 9 years ago,,about the time Bush was 1st selected by the Supreme Court,,,He has had a radio show in Fargo for Years,,he ticked off a lot of his local listners we he started to think straight,,I dont think he switched sides to get a niche,,but more because of his wife a liberal activist,,(maybe I should say she is caring for the needy),,(he had got remarried at the time),,,He lives in my Home town in Minnesota,,of about 8,000....what I know of him,,he is pretty much of a normal guy,,Hes driven an fully electric car for the past 5 years,,way before he started making his CNN appearences and His nation wide radio show,,I was in ST Augustine this winter for a while,,really like it,,

5. Isn't this kinda redundant?
What's the point of satirizing crazy people as being crazy?

7. You could look at those people and tell that they weren't teabaggers.
Honestly...liberals and conservatives LOOK different. Well...unless you're Ed Schultz. Then you're a Democrat that looks like a Republican.

8. STOP THE STEROTYPE
HEY NOW,,I KNOW ED SCHULTZ,,,And your no ED Schultz,,im kinda
tired of the Liberal stereo type,,,Im a liberal,,you can call
me a socialist,,I dont live in a City,,I can shovel
manure,,trendy fasions,,and trendy foods are for brainwashed
media watchers,,the typical stereo type liberal has the luxury
to appear the way they do ,,due to the almighty dollar,,maybe
if we stop this silly stereotype we could bring more rural
conservatives over to the left,,,,,,,,FACT,,,FARGO NORTH
DAKOTA,A LARGE COLLEGE,,PROFESSIONAL TOWN,,FULL OF SOME COFFEE
SHOPS AND HEALTH FOOD STORES,,AND JOGGERS,,ETC,,,VOTED FOR
MCCAIN THE LAST ELECTION,,TWO RURAL COUNTIES,,WEST OF
FARGO,,WHOM HAVE POPULATIONS OF LESS THAN 6,000 PEOPLE
EACH,,WENT SOLIDLY FOR OBAMA,,AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY
RESERVATIONS ON THEM EITHER,,,AND MOST OF THE FARMERS THERE
LOOK MORE LIKE ED SCHULTZ THAN YOUR TYPICAL STEREOTYPE
LIBERAL

9. Ed looks like a republican
That's because Ed switched over from being a republican when he saw an opportunity to market the "new" Ed as a "real American". He saw the void in the talk show airways so he reinvented himself to fill it, riding Air-Anerica's coattails while denying any affiliation. Very shrewd actually, but I'm not sure if that means he REALLY switched at all.

Look, we MUST be smarter than the bad guys or it's all just a waste of time.

But you're absolutely right about the LOOK. It's scary here in north Florida. Most people here LOOK like conservatives and they confirm their identity when they refer to black people as "the democrats". They think it's very clever to simultaneously "get away" with racism and a slur at Democrats in a single phrase.

11. How do you know Ed Schulz is an ex-repub who "reinvented" himself when he saw a marketable niche?
I never heard this before.

15. Thanks. Do you have anything specific in which he's changed his tune?
(He used to want Roe v Wade repealed, he voted for Reagan, etc.) I'm going to investigate this on my own too, but any info you have is appreciated.

And for the record, switching from conservative to lib doesn't make someone automatically less credible in my book (witness: Arianna Huffington).
