7. Notice how there's not a single economist on the Obama economic team?
that should be very troubling to say the least.

its run by the same Wall Street pirates and pillagers of the last 8 years.

8. But you don't understand!
Krugman and Stiglitz are number wonks, they don't have any practical experience to know how things REALLY work. We NEED to hire Wall Street, pro-deregulation guys because no one else has the experience to be part of the economic team!

;)

11. K&R! Reason For Pres Siding W/ Wall St.? All Those Influencial Contributors!
As these are people not to be admonished/prosecuted/called on the carpet or REGULATED! BO eventually won the race for receiving MOST $ from Wall Street! That is all you need to know! There are two choices here Wall St. or the ECONOMY? Right now WS is winning. As for cds's FDIC needs to go into banks no matter their size review their assets and cleanse the CDS's from their balance sheets by declaring the obligations null and void! They were wildly speculative bets placed on puffs of smoke figuratively and the bettors should be the ones to suffer the losses... NOT the Macro-Economy!

Excellent interview!

Look at my friend's qualifying parameters set out before ANY votes were taken... John had a handle on this disaster having predicted a catastrophic economic downturn back in 2006... see political videos on DU and visit www.johnrussellforcongress.com

I am so sick to my stomach when I think of all the people who put their lives on hold so that Obama would get elected and give us the needed change.

And now our money has been handed over to the lying dirt bags that caused the mess. I guess for the sole purpose of Obama being able to fund his run for 2012.

Way to go,Obama. NOT!

17. Thank you for posting. This is the best interview that TYT has done!
And those of us who have been disgusted by Obama slithering around with the Trio of Corruption now know that our instincts were right while unfortuantely for our nation, Obama's were wrong.

I have already written to President Obama expressing my concern over this very issue. I think Galbraith is spot on.

keep trying to swallow the Wall Street Gambling Debts.

They need to be bankrupted or we will be bankrupted.

24. It is so sad that our new leader doesn't get it.
He will when his misteps show the obvious consequences.

But why is it so hard for us voters to get the government we keep thinking that we voted for?

He's only been in office 100 days and already his appointees who are supposed to solve the economic crisis have sold out the middle class.

First meme: from before 2006 - we need a majority in Congress or we cannot change the nation's affairs.

Election of 2006 and we got that majority and then it was:
It's no good that we have a majority in Congress, so we have to gain the Presidency.

Now we have the Presidency and it's

1) Give him more time (Well, time is all we have to give Mr Obama - the money he's given to Wall Street will prevent the middle class from ever recovering from the economic collapse)
2) Let's help Mr Obama have the information he needs. Apparently, unless the middle class spends all their time writing to the guy and explaining to him how Paulson, Bernanke, Kashkari Geithner et al are connected to Goldman Sachs, he ain't gonna realize it.

Oh please please please. ENOUGH!!

23. Excellent interview!
Galbraith has a grasp on economic recovery-
clean house and do it differently next time.
Predatory lending practices must stop or we
will see little change.

i.e.,
Stop lending money to people who can't
possibly pay it back!

Yes, it's too bad he is not in the Obama Administration.

A big :kick: and R.

28. avoiding recognition by Moving On

if the depth of the fall is not being recognized, maybe its that 'Moving On' is a mantra for avoidance and cover. Its not easy to honestly face the future when you have been trained to avoid facing the past.
