This really lets unions show their leverage if the RNC cuts funds to the moderates. If they try to cut of Specter then the unions can move in and offer their support in his reelection campaign in exchange for support on progressive issues.

The consequences of this act will be that moderates leave the GOP and/or look to democrats for help and that the GOP becomes more self destructive. You'd think the party that felt Sarah Palin was qualified to run the military and the economy would make better decisions than this on policy but I guess not.

I mean, I would be willing to say, "damn that guy is good! I'm worried about what he could do with the GOP" if I could really see that. But this guy just seems like a clown.
