1. When bush indicated that he had more confidence in his AG after the testomony
Stewart hit it right on the head. He compared it to organized crime, and taking a fall for his boss, which is what Gonzallez did, but making himself look like a complete incompentent by not recalling anything.

Loyality to bush is what matters above country, party, and anything else.

The insights Stewart had were amazing in that interview. The more Stewart indicated that his show is not the news, but more an editorial commentary of events, the more I realize that he is more informative than any MSM news source in this country.

What they call journalism in this country today is pathetic

4. I'd prefer that we do what we should have done
when the Cold War ended; cut the god damn military by 9/10, learn to get along with the rest of the world instead of fucking ripping them off or bombing their asses, and learn how to live in peace in this country and in the rest of the world.

Just a thought.

5. A country that does not feel the war as a five year war normally would feel
That nails it. Imagine the US as Iraq; war torn and in shambles. It would be a different story, for sure.
Switch to Norway: We were a part of the coalition in Iraq until late 2005 and are still keeping forces in Afghanistan. Yet, the war is not seen as a war here, it's seen as a peace operation. It's justified as a 'UN-peace-operation' sort of war. Six days after entering the Iraqi coalition, Norway was threatened by Al-Queda for the first time. Nobody understood why. We are the good guys, so why does people threaten us? There is no link between our own actions and the reaction it causes.

This image of self innocence in combination with repeated terror threats is a potent mix in a democratic society, making it easy for those that promotes racism and xenophobia to get acceptance for their views.

8. Hammer..meet Nail..Strike Solidly on the Head!
I've been saying "Bush is Avoiding the Draft, AGAIN!"

The only way the neocons have avoided swallowing the poison pill that is The Draft, is by:

1. Recycling Our Troops (The only thing Bush Recycles is Our Troops)

2. Buying an Illegal, Private Army (Blackwater, et al)

Take one of these out of the equation and The Draft is inevitable. Then, America, the Sleeping Giant, wakes up.
