Dam Why does the truth have to come out in a book. 60 Minutes should be fun to watch.

4. TIME should nail him on his 9/11 lie Re: Moussaui

In 2005, Zacarias Moussaoui pled guilty to 9/11 terrorism. In August 2001, the FBI in Minneapolis had Moussaoui in custody and wanted to search his laptop. For this they needed the cooperation of the FBI headquarters in Washington for a search warrant request. The request was denied because the CIA lied to the FBI while telling them that Moussaoui had "extremist views" but that their report from Paris "didn't say Al Qaeda or anything like that."

See this scan of a page from the Time article which reports this false statement by the CIA. It might be necessary to use the mouse to enlarge the scan:

---------------------------------

Beyond all of Mr. George "Medal of Freedom" Tenet's sour grape WHINNING regarding our criminal Executive Branch, I would like to know if Tenet can be "water-boarded" in future interviews since this smarmy "powerbroker turned clown" INSISTS that the CIA does NOT torture?

My Point: Another disgusting former Administration RAT is jumping ship. :eyes:

*Imagine IF that request would have been granted and, as a result ALL AIRPORTS were put on a "high level of OPEN Security." 9/11 averted? We'll never know. :grr:

7. I despise Tenet more than the kool-aid drinking Neo-Cons because
he ONLY served himself. In the process, his actions, resignation and subsequent infusion of Political Operatives into the CIA has caused MANY quality career analysts and operatives to tender their resignations.

IMO, Tenet is the worst sort of traitor to our beloved Country because he betrayed his oath to the constitution in order to further his career ... as a consequence, it resulted in his stabbing his beloved CIA in the back. It will take a generation to nurture the quality contacts and groundwork that the Bush Administration (initially thanks to George Tenet) have essentially pissed away due to the meddling of political Operative spring butts such as Porter Goss, et. al., filling key Intelligence positions that they haven't a clue how to effectively run. :(

6. FU Tenet. You kept your mouth shut for four+ years while
Americans died and innocent Iraqis had their lives torn into shreds. AND you accepted Smirky's medal for doing so. You are mad because they are trying to put some small amount of blame on you now??? F YOU!!!!

I'm giving this thread the 5th rec - because it will be important to have this gang turn on each other and try to destroy each other over this horrible war, and Tenet's book will be a large part of that. But it isn't as if he doesn't bear a huge part of the blame because of his silence. You traitor.

8. FU Tenet. Every time I see that footage of Powell at the UN ...
... spewing lies, and you knew they were lies, you just sat there literally backing up the lies. What the hell was going through your mind? Your newly opened bank account in the Caymans maybe? Screw you. Your and Powell's credibility and reputation were pissed away at the same moment!

9. so why'd he accept the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Chimp?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A63623-2004Dec14.html

If Tenet felt exploited, wouldn't it have been honorable and appropriate to reject this predisential "payoff" for allowing himself to be scapegoated?

President Bush awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Tommy Franks, the now-retired Army general who led the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq; former CIA director George Tenet, who told Bush it was a "slam dunk" that Iraq still had weapons of mass destruction; and L. Paul Bremer, who presided over the first 14 months of Iraq reconstruction.

16. Why does the truth have to come out in a book?
More to the point is Why does the truth have to come out four years, over a half million lives, billions of wasted dollars and a lost war or two later?

Perhaps as a small consulation to us, Tenet's book will turn up the heat on those reluctant to impeach the war criminals Bush and Cheney. However, given a choice between that and stopping this war before it began in the first place, it's a slam dunk which I'd pick.
