I say "best" because you don't see it coming. When the video first starts it hasn't happened yet, but wait for it...

10. That made me cry.
It brought it all back again. My sister and I screamed and jumped up and down for 10 minutes, but I think this has it beat. Beautiful! Definitely the best election reaction video I've seen. Thanks for posting.

20. It made me cry too.
Brought me back to that night as well. I had a lot of grief going on around me that night but for a short while that grief was replaced by a profound joy for the folks of this country! YES WE DID!

12. I hope that it
never stops making me cry. I cried that night and I've been misty-eyed almost every day since for one reason or another. It's relief, pride, hope, fear and possibilities all wrapped up into one.

24. And relief. Deep, deep relief
that the next four years, however challenging, can't possibly be as angering as the last 8.

I wondered where all the tears, and all the Obama-worship on my side was coming from. I've been feeling like a 12-year-old girl who loves the Jonas Brothers when the Obamas come on TV.

Then my SO pointed out that it was probably just the huge load off of our shoulders to know that the country was in the hands of a smart, level-headed person.

21. What I did was nothing compared to what many did for themselves. I
just argued with the bigots in my college classes and neighborhood and church. There were people out on the streets who did the dangerous work. No one threatened my life. No one beat me. But none the less I did what I as a single mother raising three children (one severely disabled and needing 24 hour care) could do. When I spoke of hard work I was referring to the complete movement not just my part in it. Without all the people who took part in the marches, the protests, the discussions, the lobbying there would have been no victory then or now.

I did not ask for anyone's thanks. I was merely trying to say how very satisfied I was with the outcome of something I had been a part of so long ago. When bush came into office all I could see was the destruction of all of that progress and our powerlessness to stop him. But stop him we have.

17. DAMN that was loud!!
Even with my volume practically turned off! :)

And to think that there were threads in GD-P during the primaries and campaign asking "why aren't black people more excited about Obama's campaign??" That was 18 months of pent-up hope and anxiety being released in that video. You could power Guam for a year with that energy.

25. Only if you give it some title like....
"Earthquakes will happen"
to lure them in
I bet it takes them most of the video to work out that they are watching ecstacy rather than some disaster (which of course it is to them).

27. On a more sober note . . .
Has any president come into office with a greater burden of promise and apprehension, with the hopes of whole peoples riding on his shoulders? Washington? Lincoln? FDR?

Obama's such a skinny guy; I hope his character is strong as it seems.
