Basically, she wanted to know, "Now that you've seen what the president has seen, were you wrong about things? Will you have to reconsider campaign positions?" Maybe she wanted to know if now he thinks we'll have to stay in Iraq longer after all, something like that...

I haven't watched a presidential news condference since at least Clinton, but I just saw "Virtual JFK" ( documentary) and it was "Mr. Vanoucer" and "Ms Thomas", not "Helen" and "Sandy".

It was a test to see how wishy-washy or strong the new President will be.

One time in an interview he was asked something about a leader lying to the public. He said, in effect, that you should always be honest. And if you can't answer honestly, you should just refuse to answer the question.

Good advice to follow. When Presidents lie, they can often get caught up in the unreality that they've created and start to believe it themselves.
