12. I just remember when DU started taking ads,

people were complaining about ads being generated by what people were posting about. I don't get the ads as a member, so I can't be sure, but it seems to me that if it's generating ads on DU, it's generating cookies on posters in threads.

Maybe? :shrug: Just a theory. I don't really know anything about how this Internets thingee works, either.

9. Legal immigrants were told Immigration had lost their records after Katrina.

I know of several cases of Vietnamese immigrants whose green cards were washed away by the storm who tried filing FOIA requests for their records only to be stymied by a loss of records. I'm not sure what happened in 3 out of 4 of the cases, but one guy was able to reconstruct his file with the help of his sponsoring relative who was living in California and who had kept records of the relatives she had sponsored to come over.
