1. You say in your opening sentence that "they made Sarah Palin look good."
I agree. That's why it wasn't effective satire. It was an advertisement for how hip and down to earth Sarah Palin is, making her likeable and "relatable," playing into her personal narrative. It was sickening.

4. another take
I saw SNL last night and initially wondered why she would be on if she really wasn't going to do anything. Then it hit me. This was the perfect situation when someone thinks they're "in on" the joke and go along, but all the time they ARE the joke. I think it was brilliant because she had no idea what was really happening.
