Notice his body language, too. What a strange thing to say.

3. that is a weird word to use
don't think I have heard that one... I suppose MLKjr and RFK were "interventions" too in the strictest sense of RW thought, they intervened in something with which they did not agree.

8. He called the assassination a "tragedy," not an "intervention"
The OP is mistaken. Still, it was an inappropriate comparison, right up there with the reference to Robert Kennedy's assassination that Sen. Clinton made during her campaign.

13. Edited my post

I am editing out what I originally wrote. Decided to listen to the whole thing in context again. You are right, he was speaking of JFK and Goldwater agreeing to meet in a town hall form, "before the intervention of the tragedy in Dallas".

5. Is that a common way to state that????
I have never heard of that before and he shifts his words saying two words or tries to find a word. I don't trust the nose touch thing which is like saying something to the effect of brushing it off in a non-emotional manner. Almost guilty. Weird. I think this is the kind of thing that should be run on news programs and talked about. How very very odd. I hadn't noticed it at the debate it went by so quick. I think he was on speed.

9. Code word for CIA assasination.

Lawrence George Teeter was Sirhan Sirhan's lawyer until his untimely death in 2005. To mark the 40th anniversary of RFK's assassination, here is a talk by Teeter given November 14, 2000 entitled, "CIA Interventions: The Role of the CIA and the LAPD in the RFK Assassination". The talk was given at the Sepulveda UU Church. R.I.P. RFK (1968), and Larry Teeter (2005). You can order a DVD of this talk from justicevision.org

I found both of these videos somewhat shocking last night. Tried several times to post on DU but the URL would not recognize properly. I made about half an hour of this presentation and intend to watch the rest as time allows.

11. I think he was basically just saying
something about Kennedy and Goldwater having talked about having some sort of town hall type meetings before the "intervention of the tragedy." It is an odd way of putting it, but I don't think he meant to trivialize Kennedy's assassination in any way.

to stop JFK.
