During an interview with the Des Moines Register, John McCain becomes defensive and plays the POW card when asked if he's always had tax payer financed health care coverage.

"There was a time in my life where the healthcare was not so good," McCain states, referring to his time as a POW.

McCain opposes universal health care, taxpayer financed, that would cover all Americans.

1. If he were smart,
he'd take a moment to DESCRIBE how the govt. plan works: employee pays and govt also pays some, like other employer/ee plans. (That's how it works for employees, and prolly for senators and congresspeople.)

2. His own fault for giving a lame answer.
It isn't the reporters who are out to get him, he's the one dropping the ball.

10. POW POW POW
John McCain's entire life revolves around the worst part of his life. Every decision is based on how he relates to the world and that relation is being a P.O.W. No one should vote for someone who makes decisions based on their worst days of their life.

12. When was it that his "health care wasn't very good"
McCain has always (as an adult) had government provided health care. He qualifies this to say that, for a period of time, his health care wasn't very good. My question is, when was that? and how and why did it improve?
