Carl Levin on Syria and Iran -- WTF????

1. He actually is making a very good point

See, the majority of attacks on our military in Iraq are done by Sunni. Iran supports the Shia. Iran does not support the Sunni, the Sunni would be supported by Syria and Saudi Arabia, and even Jordan (all Sunni majority states). But to listen to the Administration go on and on about Iranian weapons killing Americans (thus to justify attacking Iran), Senator Levin is saying that we must focus on all borders, if weapons are being brought in to kill our troops.

One interesting thing I heard was that most of the weapons were there already, that they were not being 'replenished' over the borders. Do you remember back before the 2004 election how there were stockpiles of weapons that our military did not guard? Those weapons are now being used against our troops. We can not blame Syria, Saudi Arabia, or even Iran for that one, that is plainly on the war planners of the US occupation.

I love the part where he talking about American troops just before pointing out that neither Syria and Iran 'recognize' Israel. Really goes to show just where is mind is really at...lunacy.

I guess just leaving, which would solve the problem of 'insurgents' trying to kill foreign and illegal occupiers, is too much for Sen. Levin to contemplate -- a warmonger no different than any of the others.

3. Actually,

he is quite different from the others. He's one of the REALLY good guys. That's why I don't understand this exchange. I thought maybe he was prodding the witness for a statement on war with Syria and Iran, but then, why would he make his own statement? This is baffling. Maybe it would make more sense to see it in it's entirety.

5. Sometimes I think the neocons like the weapons coming in for Sunnis.

That way Iraq will be the boiling pot that overflows with Sunni Shite hatred that will spread to other parts of the middle east. Wedging Syria from Iran if you will. I don't think it is working. Sunni Saudi Arabia is hosting the leader of Iran (shite) as we speak.

Perhaps that is this guys point. Why not try and win Iraq by baring all outside insurgents? Not just the ones who come from a country you want to attack.
