Ha ha. Except it's not funny. Even Dennis Prager, normally willing to let himself be a tool for these lying thugs, detects something fishy in their account.

I love how the forces of anti-abortion create all of these slickly worded bills, and then when someone is smart enough to see through their tactics, they vilify them. They hate Obama because he's smart.

Clearly, this bill was created to make abortion more difficult by giving rights to a fetus. Coulter, Hannity, OReilley, and all the usual suspects are going to throw this in your face till the election. They want to involve congress in the very personal business of abortion.

Look, it is irrelevant if the aborted fetus is alive or dead at the moment of the abortion. To insist that it be treated like a human with rights just because it may exhibit biological function for a few moments is ridiculous. Roe v. Wade clearly states that women have the right to choose prior to fetal viability, and once the choice has been made, the government has no right to expect doctors to provide medical care to the aborted fetus.

It has no rights because it's autonomic nervous system took a breath outside of the womb. If it can not survive on it's own, then it is not viable.

8. Not true in this case.

First, these are not "new borns", they are aborted fetuses. While they may have developed some functioning biological systems, they were never meant to be viable. The fact that these systems began to function after the abortion does not afford the fetus medical rights of it's own.

Senator Obama was absolutely right to vote against this sham bill that tried to insert some legal definitions to use as a hammer to smash the process of legal abortion.
