Sen. McCain talks about his moral failures and what he sees as the biggest problem for America

To bad he didn't mention he was fooling around while he was married. And that he left his wife because she was in an accident and gained weight. Doh!!

1. Wow, McCain devotes a very self-critical one sentence to his greatest moral failing
Whereas Obama reflected much more thoughtfully on the issue.

2. People need to be educated about his first marriage.
He just opened the door. When it comes out what really happened those who were there will realize he completely bamboozled them.

3. McSame
Wasn't the least bit thoughtful on any question. Obama was quite thoughtful on every question.
For me, of course that is a good thing. For many, they might find McSame "decisive" and "sure of himself".
Too bad this is a nation of such fools.

8. my goodness - he said like 3 seconds worth didn't he!
then goes on for a minute about America's greatest failure. He could have at least said he handled it very immaturely and only thought of himself - what a copout! I will look for Obama's response.

4. And the media says
MaGoo had a good night. Did anyone else catch his gaffe about the Supreme Court question. They were talking about gay marriage and MaGoo said something about question on the SC? He didn't get any questions on that till later but yet he knew there would be a question on it. Cheating I'm Shocked
:sarcasm:

10. It seemed to mean that McCain had all his answers memorized
and well practiced. He even answered at least one before they were totally answered. Where as Obama had a talk about his answers. Two very different styles. McCain seemed to not answer all of them and instead would "tell another story". No plans on how he would do anything just idealist comments. I especially didn't like his answer on how you would classify the wealthy. He had a terrible no answer on that one.

6. passive voice
McCain describes his greatest moral failure: "the failure of my first marriage." Nobody to blame- the marriage just failed. Your marriage didn't fail, John- YOU DUMPED HER. You dumped her because (flushing sound) 23 operations later, she was a chubby little cripple.

7. It would not have been out of line to have a follow-up question here.
Especially given the ongoing intense coverage of Edwards. At the very least, an invitation to talk more about what the moral failures might have been...

9. Overall tonight it seems

simple Sidney's simplistic sound bytes did well with simpletons.

I suppose it's not important many of his new positions are not congruent with his past voting record or personal life.

Too many love short trite easy to digest answers to complex questions. It's a shame this same group tends to reliably vote.

I am not surprised and yet still disappointed.

12. When asked of America's greatest moral failure I thought if he
was going to honestly answer the question he would simply say "we haven't started or been in enough wars". Of course that isn't what he said but he did allude to it by saying after 9/11 we should have encouraged more people to join the military. Which of course would allow us to fight more wars and have more fronts.

For the record I think McCain is nuts.
