There is less than happy news for Democratic Sens. Joseph Lieberman and Christopher Dodd of Connecticut in a Quinnipiac University poll released today. Lieberman has been a vocal supporter of presumptive Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain of Arizona, and that appears to be taking a toll on his popularity back home. The survey of 2,515 registered Connecticut voters, conducted Thursday through Sunday with a 2-point error margin, shows Lieberman with a 45 percent approval rating and a 43 percent disapproval score. That is a drop from a 52 percent approval/35 percent disapproval rating in a poll Quinnipiac conducted in late March. Dodd, meanwhile, scored 51 percent approval and 34 percent disapproval in the latest poll. That is the same approval rating as in the March survey. But his disapproval score rose 6 points since the spring in the wake of publicity about the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee receiving discounted mortgages from Countrywide Financial Corp.

Lieberman, who won re-election in 2006 as an independent after losing the Democratic primary, has a nearly 4-1 approval rating among Republican voters. But Democratic voters disapprove of him 62-26 percent, even though Lieberman continues to caucus with Senate Democrats. Douglas Schwartz, director of the Quinnipiac poll, noted that “Lieberman’s approval rating has dropped below 50 percent for the first time in 14 years of polling,”

9. I probably shouldn't even ask this as I don't know enough to be

comfortable asking this - but would 37% reflect hard-core Zionists? Because every time he speaks and acts it's on behalf of the current leaders of Israel and what their agenda appears to be, to me, which I've written about so many times on DU. Joe sometimes seems to me to exist to further the cause of Israel and Israeili interests only - his version of Israel. He is extremely centered on Israel. Supporting McCain is about Israel. Supporting Republicans is about Israel. Because the Republicans have a pact with certain Christian leaders who have agreen to support Israel even if they lose their children in a phonied up war with Iraq of if the world falls apart from our bombing Iran which is i.

Now if the other 63% are not in favor of or are undecided about Joe, that cannot be interpreted to mean that they are anti-Israel. That isn't logical. So why am I accused of being anti-Semetic if I don't favor the current leaders agenda for Israel and I propose the path Israel is on?
