Patrick McCrory, NC Republican candidate for Governor, opened up Saturday's Gubernatorial debate by repeatedly asking why North Carolina can't be more like the teevee shows, "CSI" and "Law Order."

Lauding teevee shows for providing "DNA test results in minutes," McCrory complained that North Carolina District Attorneys can't afford to shop at Neiman Marcus:

"On Law and Order, the District Attorneys are dressed like they shop at Neiman Marcus."

Guess what McCrory used as a point of reference in his closing remarks? Yep, lol, another teevee show, Andy Griffith.

"Andy Griffith endorsed Mike Easely and Beverly Perdue...it made me think, what would Andy Taylor say today?"

Beverly Perdue is the Democratic Candidate for Governor of North Carolina.

1. Bush is a "Great President"-McCrory
Yes, McCrory said that about Bush.

Bush visited NC last week for a fundraiser for Patrick McCrory.

2. Oh brother!
Just what we need in NC....one of the 29% who thinks Bush is great and also believes TV is real.

Well....NCians believed Elizabeth Dole was actually a NCian, and that's worked out great, hasn't it?

5. I know, right?
And, McCrory opposes expanding Smart Start, the award winning early childhood education/intervention program and is against increasing College tuition assistance.

He's all about more teevee, less education!

3. I NOMINATE THIS GUY FOR THE TOP TEN LIST!!!
I always thought of conservatives being out of touch with reality as a metaphorical state of mind... but this guy quite literally can't tell reality for fantasy. What an idiot!
