We better get used to it. The Republican machine will use this video soundtrack ad nauseum to use against Mrs. Clinton.

Let's just say that she can't sing that well. It should not be an issue, but like many moments caught in the 2004 race that were fairly meaningless, this will be an "issue". Welcome to Swiftboating 101.

I'm sure James Carville is going to tell Mrs. Clinton what to do next...try out for American Idol perhaps?

1. Oh, Bless her heart! I saw a bit about this yesterday. She's actually kind of cute doing that.
I guess anyone who wouldn't vote for her because she can't carry a tune wouldn't have voted for her anyway. MKJ

19. She has guts and sang even tho she no doubt knows she
can not carry a tune. So what. It's the thought that counts, not whether she can sing. Hell, no one wants to hear me sing. In my church going days as a young one, teenager, when being able to sing was important, I sang in church even tho I knew I was a joke, it was called faith, god didn't care.

This is a non issue.

2. Oh my God!
Did you hear that? What am I supposed to do now? I can't vote for Edwards because he bought a house, and I can't vote for Clinton because she can't sing, and I can't vote for Obama because he was a Muslim when he was 7 years old. Thank God all this IMPORTANT information is coming out now, so that I don't have to go through all the bother of actually looking at their voting records to make such an important decision. (Please note, I can't seem to pull up that cute little 'sarcasm' thing, so pretend it's right here. Thanks!).

13. I think the point is that VOTERS often care about stupid shit
so we should know what the stupid shit is BEFORE we nominate someone who is sure to lose. Personally, I don't think this video is an issue.

I think there are plenty of people out there who won't vote for Hussein Osama... oops... I mean Obama, because of his name. Are they stupid for this, yes. Do we need votes from stupid people to win elections, yes.

And I am not saying we shouldn't nominate Obama by the way.

16. with all due respect,
I don't disagree with your position, but I get the feeling that you think we should throw up our hands and shrug our shoulders and just go along. I disagree. I say shame on those people who would cast a vote without considering what is REALLY important, as opposed to what the media tells us what they think we should think is important, and shame on us if we don't work damn hard to try and change that mentality.
Peace.

17. "you think we should throw up our hands"
Not at all. I just want to accept the fact that we need informed voters to like our candidates, as well as uninformed voters. Personally, I don't think it is that hard to do, and doesn't involve triangulation or whatever.

3. The Star Spangled Banner
is hard to sing. But lets just revel in the fact that even if she could not carry that tune well, she stood up in FRONT OF AMERICA and sang her National Anthem. GOD BLESS HER.

5. I happened to catch it and all that crossed my
mind was that Hillary's singing ability is on par with mine - nil. Of course repukes aren't gunning for me. They'll use anything - anything - against her. Wait until her first verbal gaffe. The replaying of it will make her wish it was only getting as much attention as the "Dean scream."

This is going to get ugly.

11. especially after they filter out the back ground
and amplify it so it sounds like she's belting it out...

but then, they;ve always picked on the most ridiculous weak points they can find er...invent.

This was a damed if you do damned if you don't moment. Imagine if she HADN'T sung!
*GASP!* The horror.

9. I can sing the Star Spangled Banner, but I damn sure can't sing it in that key.
And I would never attempt to sing it with a dedicated mic in front of a crowd.

It did make me kind of giggle to hear her sing because my voice has been known to wobble and wander like that, too. :)

Remember when Bill Clinton sang "Imagine" with the Arab and Jewish children? He can't sing well, either. No one cares. This ain't American Idol. And the first Repub pundit who criticizes her, I want that person to sing the Anthem, in the same key, on air.

12. Hillary's the first to admit she can't sing ...
When she won her Grammy for the spoken version of "It Takes a Village" she said "I didn't know they gave Grammys to tone deaf singers".

14. Maybe we should only choose our nominees from American Idol auditions...?
It seems we've been watching American Idol a little too much?

Signed,

18. She is human here
The song has high notes and low notes, and it's difficult to sing.

My only thought is why she started singing when the flag was directly in front of her.
