4. I'm glad somebody was able to get through to her.
Still, it's pathetic that she was going to wait "weeks" and only changed her plan when the hammer came down on her.

For someone who claims to be so "experienced," she sure doesn't seem to understand when something is o-v-e-r.

2. Hey thanks for posting this- I hadn't seen a good description of how this went down....
...and, while I was able to piece it together from the news stories yesterday, this puts pretty much everything that's happened in the last 24 or so hours in perspective.

Thanks

PB

5. The Today Show? Behind the scenes? They couldn't even wipe their butts?
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 03:36 PM by LiberalFighter
When the media explains what happen in a situation like this they are more likely adding more to it then what really happen. Even then, to suggest that what has happened is out of the ordinary is a crock of bull!

The media can't be trusted to tell the truth when it comes to politics. They have to make it more than what it is.

And Andrea Mitchell doing the reporting? She is a shill!!

9. So what is your take?
What is you take on someone who has LOST, deciding she is "going to weight her options" and take some time to make a decision? Rather than throw her support behind the person who won?

It's as if the final bell has rung, and the judges have handed down a split decision that went against a boxer, and that boxer was still standing in the ring taunting his opponent to go one more round. It's pathetic and undignified. The other politicians (some her most staunch supporters) are guiding their punch drunk friend to the locker room.

10. You are likely to get the same reaction when an animal is cornered.
If you don't allow options for a person to save face and also maintain party unity it hurts everyone.

6. Gentle push should not be needed if the election were
done. Why the "push" to get anyone of the race if this is a democracy. Why bother having a fair and open election if they "push" you out or demand you leave for the sake of the party? Just appoint Obama king without the delegates vote and demands.

Hillary literally has no chance of getting the nomination and there really are no valid arguments for why she should get it. The superdelegates aren't going to overturn the will of the voters and annoint clinton instead of the candidate with the most delegates. Seating Michigan where Obama wasn't on the ballot is silly, and even if you did Obama still has more delegates anyway. And she was not doing well with superdelegates either. Since Indiana & NC Obama has gained about 140 superdelegates to Clintons 30. She cannot get the votes to win no matter what. Superdelegates aren't going to her and she lost the elected delegate race.

If there were legitimate reasons to contest this election, ok. But there weren't. Hillary has no valid route to winning and if she stays in that means Obama only has 2 months to prepare for the general and unite the party (starting at the end of August) instead of the 5 months he has if he starts now.

8. So we now know that her original double-talk about the Friday thing was her usual bullshit
She was planning to mince words and parse phrases and it took a big push those closest to her to tell her she was out of her mind.

I hope Schumer and the other nominally sane people around her don't wander too far, because I have the feeling that once she starts hitting the sauce again with McAuliffe Saturday night, we'll see her on the Sunday talk shows in full campaign mode all over again.
