She's not talking about how she feels, she's talking about how some people think Hillary feels, or what some think Hillary hinted at with her RFK comment. She's imagining Hillary hinting "that somebody should knock off Obama". In that mode, why not imagine that Hillary would like to see somebody knock off Osama too.

So really the only joke she made was about killing Osama. The male announcer was the one who turned it on her, as if she was the one suggesting two assassinations. She ignored, or wasn't listening to, his off-the-cuff remark and kept on with her analysis of the controversy.

I don't see it as she, or they, came on and made a joke about that. It only came up in reference to an interpretation of Hillary's statement, and then Osama got thrown into the mix by a verbal flub that was covered by joking about killing Osama.

9. It may not have been a threat but it was advocacy...

She clearly said that assassination would be "good". She may not have said she would be the one to pull the trigger, but she sure didn't seem to mind the idea of someone else pulling the trigger. Threat or not it is vile, it is disgusting, and it has no place on anything that purports to be a "news" channel.

I watched the video and I saw and heard Fox News reporting what Hillary said. I did not hear them joking about killing Obama. Was that the wrong link?

Then the host said "tell us how you really feel", indicating that her (the guests's)remark "if we could"" was in keeping with her true feelings of hatred toward Obama. That woman is a big time RW hater of Democrats.

Okay, after listening to the clip again I see where she did make the remark. That was definitely inappropriate. Tell me something though, who is this woman? I am not familiar with her. The title on the screen says "Liz Trotta Author and Journalist". Does she work for Fox News? If so then Fox News should be responsible for her stupid remarks. If not, then is it appropriate to blame Fox News when a guest says something stupid? It certainly did not appear to be scripted. I'm just trying to take an unbiased perspective on this video and place the blame where it's deserved.

11. Update: Trotta apologized - so it all Ok now

Trotta apologized for her comments on Fox News Monday morning:

I am so sorry about what happened yesterday. In a lame attempt at humor I really just fell all over myself in making it appear that I wished Barack Obama harm or any other candidate for that matter. I sincerely regret it and apologize to anybody I've offended. It's a very colorful political season and many of us are making mistakes and saying things we wish we hadn't said.
