1. Don't you mean June 8, 1992?

6. Let's review history -
Back in 1968 they didn't start campaigning around the country one and two years in advance.

The first primary was New Hampshire on March 12, 1968. Bobby Kennedy didn't begin his campaign until a few days after that! Then less than 2 months later he was murdered after winning California. The California primary was about 4 months later than it is now.

That was old time politics. At this time in 1968 - and I think even in June, far less than half the primaries had been held. Candidates didn't have a choice but to stay in the race until the convention.

With McGovern and McCarthy dividing the anti-war votes, Humphrey, didn't gain the nomination until during the convention, and that was a big fight! They had no choice but to stay in. It was politics at its rawest. The convention these days is just "going through the motions", IMHO.

That convention was a horrible convention. Protests outside. Police rioting. The state of New York having their own protest on the convention floor. But all that is beside the point.

The point is, Hillary is being intellectually dishonest about using 1968 and Bobby's murder as a reason to stay in the race. And as the Russert video shows, as does history, Bill had it pretty much wrapped up by April, 1992, and I certainly don't remember any Democratic opponent of Bill's utilizing the tactics that Hillary has been using during this race.

2. Even if Bill had it locked up in April...
Jerry Brown didn't drop out until June. That's got to be what Hillary's referencing. That still makes it disingenuous. Of course, Hillary's campaign has been that way since February.

5. Better interpretation
Is the hypocrisy of Bill Clinton crying out the media declaring the race early for Obama, yet they did the same for Bill in 1992. Where was his outrage about that?

7. Technically she's right.
He didn't go over the mark until California but he had effectively won it in April. Now, if they could find some video of either she or Bill claiming outright victory of the nomination before June 1992, they'd have something. This one is a little thin.

8. I don't remember a lot of outrage against Brown
certainly not to the extent of the outrage against Hillary for staying in

9. I don't remember Brown & supporters really pretending he could win
He just had a message to get out. He wanted to focus the dialogue on speaking truth to power.

Hillary's only message she wants to get out is that she wants to be the nominee. Oh, and her fierce devotion to seating Michigan and Florida delegates now that it would help her. Oh, and that she's a victim and a fighter.
