How could something like a primary be made so difficult? ALL states should vote on the same day with straight up elections.

This extended season is great for the media and for people who bribe our representatives to represent them instead... I don't see the benefit for we, the people.

On the Democratic side, we have this interminable campaign of the living dead...

On the GOP side, the primary was effectively over before 3/4 of the states got to vote...

and on BOTH sides, this awful process gave us nothing but Senators, who are the most craven, corrupt, and long winded individuals in the entire nation. Just that fact alone ought to convince any reasonable person that the system needs a complete overhaul.

8. I think we can take 'republican unity' out of the equation.

Maybe it'll give dems a boost, not unlike Perot did clinton in '92...or maybe not. I suspect this season is going to get even weirder when the independants and minor parties start declaring their runs. IMO, we ain't seen nothing yet.

Also keep an eye on the repub veep. The man is within a heartbeat of the presidency, no?
