Sign the petition: http://pol.moveon.org/enoughdistractions/?rc=homepage

On April 16, ABC let voters down with their abysmal debate. Bad debates aren't just painful to watch--they actually hurt the country. Sign the petition telling media "enough distractions - ask about issues that affect people's lives.

12. I did too! Its time to FIGHT for this country and fight against the media and the distortion of HRC!
We demand better from our politicians and DEMAND that the media get back to real journalism and the issues! Their negligence cost us thousands of young American lives in the Iraq war as well as the lives of tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis!

We have people without jobs, people without healthcare, people losing their homes. Vets with PTSD and no help...

Time to STAND UP to the dangerous nonsense that has become pervasive in our political system and our government!

19. You are so right. I think a lot of us are asking these questions today....
If the media had been this tough on the people who got us into this disaster of a war, over 4,000 Americans might still be with us. They have failed us time & time again. Enough is Enough.

25. Signed BUT...
I wish Move On had used their power to highlight the exclusion of candidates and therefore the views that mainstream politicians did not want discussed.

Dennis brought up these issues whenever he was given the chance during the debates and now these issues have been silenced as well.

Single-payer health care
Accountability/impeachment
Privatization of Iraq's resources
Iran war propaganda

NBC disinvites Kucinich from debate
01/11/08

"NBC had invited the long-shot candidate on Jan. 9 but rescinded its decision Friday morning, when NBC Political Director Chuck Todd informed the Kucinich camp that the network was “redoing” its participation criteria, according to the campaign...

However, NBC changed its criteria to focus the debate on the three candidates with a realistic shot of winning the nomination — Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.), Barack Obama (Ill.) and former Sen. John Edwards (N.C.).

Kucinich, who was also excluded from an ABC debate, is now considering legal action against NBC. In a statement, the campaign cited “the blatant disregard of the public interest in silencing public debate that dissents with the views of NBC, its parent company, GE, and all of the military contractors and their candidate-funding corporate interests.”

“When ‘big media’ exert their unbridled control over what Americans can see, hear, and read, then the Constitutional power and right of the citizens to vote is being vetoed by multi-billion- corporations that want the votes to go their way,” the campaign said.

27. ooooh, a petiton ... that will scare them ...
How about getting them to continue reporting about WAR CRIMES that bush admiited to on their network?

All of this is nothing but a big Dog & Pony Show as bush readies his attack on Iran and completes his distruction of what's left of our country.

They're not going to risk losing an election. Whatever is going to happen is going to happen this summer. Everything that is happening is indicating this.

A "false flag" is all that is needed to bring everything back on track and make any investigations that are surfacing disappear. Shock & Awe the people, order an attack on Iran (who will be blamed).

As we speak police across the country are training for and being told that Marshall Law will be declared soon. Once we're attacked bush will declare a "state of emergency" and all military aged people will be conscripted into the war effort. Most will be willing go because it will be only place you'll be able to find employment and eat. Those of us that resist will be headed for FEMA camps that have already been built and staffed, if we're not shot on the spot. 26,000 preachers have been recruited by FEMA to soften-up the public by preaching servitude to the State. Gas station owners have already been told that in August gas will go to $4.50. Why would they be told this now? bush has been buying oil and filling the NSR to record levels when he should be releasing it to ease pressure on us.

The election will go off as planned. They'll want to keep the illusion alive. But they will be so tainted as to be meaningless. For all the bluster and exposure about election-fraud near all AG's placed by rove are in place and working their "caging lists'. Simple things like having election day on Saturday haven't been addressed. Yesterday Republicans blocked a bill to replace e-voting machines with paper-trail ones in time for the election, because it "costs too much" - $685 million - about 4 days in Iraq. McInsane will win in another close election brought to you by Diebold.

If you think I'm being alarmist - think again. Look how rapidly things have deteriorated in just the past few months alone and still the sheeple and congress remain silent. Our law enforcement and courts are now compromised. When bush can get on national TV and admit to committing war-crimes and there is hardly a peep about this coming from anyone, it means we've lost. We're done. Finished. They can and will do anything they want and as far as I can see there isn't a damn thing that's going to stop them.

I almost hate to venture out anymore for the ignorance that I run into. Last night I got in a conversation with two men who were in on a conference that had something to do with National Guard Reserves. When I asked them what we're doing in Iraq they said we're building schools. I said, we invaded a country to "build schools"? Then they became belligerent. I keep on pressing them and next came insults and threats. Of, course WMD's came up and they refused to believe there weren't any - we just haven't found them yet. When they mentioned 9/11 and I asked what Iraq had to do with it, they accused me of lying when I said there were no Iraq men on the planes! I couldn't believe what these two idiots, and they were older guys, my age, were saying. And these guys are in charge of our young! They absolutely accused me of lying when I said that 17 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi-Arabia. You should of seen the look on their faces when I asked why we didn't attack Saudi-Arabia instead. How could anyone not know this? Anyway, I hope I ruined their trip. But these are the guys that are going to be carrying out the orders when the hammer comes down - and believe me, if they thought they could of killed me last night and gotten away with it they would have.

Even what I consider enlightened people are so ignorant of what this government has and is doing causes me to want to scream.

The collapse will happen so fast we'll not be able to form a resistance. Besides we'll be too busy just trying to survive. Most of us aren't even close to being aware of what's about to take place or what's taken place. Even those that are upset don't know what to do. All I ever hear is "What can I do?", "They're so powerful ...', "I don't want to be bothered", "So what, it doesn't effect me" and every other excuse one could expect to hear from a spoiled, dumbed-down, self-indulgent, ignorant people.

It's going to get real ugly - real soon. See ya in the FEMA camp - if I make it that far - personally I want to do go swinging.
