"Nine out of the 35 races that were selected by the DCCC were winners...the rest of them were all folks who started on their own with enormous grassroots organizations."

(Key word here is selected. Most started out on their own with grassroots groups and DCCC and DNC helped fund some eventually. I had to listen a couple of times to get what he was saying.)

That is truly amazing, really. The majority ran because they were inspired and wanted to change the country.

He mentioned that some never got much help from either the DCCC or the DNC but won anyway. He named as examples Carol Shea-Porter, Jerry McNerney, and John Hall. He said it was all the netroots, people knocking on doors, people going out and talking to their neighbors.

He said "you can't win without television, but you can't win if you just do television. Reconnecting human beings to each other is the new politics in America, and you're doing it."

3. Hopes we have "seen the last of the Democratic Party that thinks we can win in 20 states"
I like that statement.

4. Howard Dean is the hero of the 2006 elections . . .
without his vision, commitment, and dedication, I doubt very much that we would have sworn in a Democratic Congress . . . team him up with Al Gore in 2008, and the White House is ours . . .

5. and we that you Gov Dean!
:yourock:

ps...I enjoyed laying into Carville/Begala when their new pac called asking for money. I told them I strongly support Howard Dean ans his 50 state strategy and feel that Carville/Begala and their DLC cronies are destroying the Democratic party. I told them my money will go to support Dean's effort and now toward this group to support their corporate friends.

I still have the postcard his campaign for President sent me when I contributed. It says "Together we're taking back our country." That's still true.

7. More, about Iraq and health care.
More:

American values include inclusiveness, thoughtfulness, civility. They do include a willingness to work for progressive change. Then he mentions health care.

Says the Iraq situation will be the most difficult because the president controls foreign and military policy. But now we have a House that is in tune with the American people that believes we ought not to be there. I think you will see some real effort to try and disengage ourselves.

8. Howard Dean Rocks!
McAwful was all about the money. Dr Dean is all about the people.
That's not to say he's not doing a great job fundraising, he is. But he really understands what we're fighting for.

Thanks for the video and thanks Dr Dean!

9. "Nine out of the 35 races that were selected by the DCCC were winners"
The others started as grassroots candidates who were later helped in varying degrees by the Dem committees.

That is amazing, and it indicates a sea change in our party. These people ran because they cared, and they were excited about making change in our party.

11. He's busy traveling again...Kentucky and Ohio today.
http://journals.democraticunderground.com/madfloridian/915

Says a Democratic governor in KY is a priority. Had a fundraiser in Cincinnati...gave a reporter an interview when he walked up to him in Starbucks. The reporter took notes on the back of an envelope. I would call that a casual interview.
