3. Agreed. This requires a resolution enabling inquiry without the stonewalling.
Only one solution around executive privilege, impeachment proceedings.

2. "Congress is like a convention of Claude Raines actors..."
"Everyone is saying we're shocked, shocked. There's torture happening, or it's being discussed in the White House, but no one is doing anything about it." -- Jonathan Turley

"Everyone needs to get off the stage & start investigating."

Amen.

4. Well, they are a bunch of mostly lawyers, who know the reality is in the details, like
from the dKos article: ".... I originally used 'authorizing torture' in my story title but decided that 'allowing torture' was more apt. The prior characterization was, I think, true but might have been taken as indicating that the memo in question, which Bush signed, actively called for torture rather than declaring that, under certain circumstances, torture was legal because the Geneva Conventions didn't apply......"

That rather parses authorized, doesn't it?
There's no nebulous "Okay by me, as long as I'm not the one saying do it. He, Heh." category for war crimes.
The lawyers in Congress need to step back and take long look at which side of the culpability line playing Bush defense places them on.

5. Quick ...
Someone call China!

Bush will not boycott the Olympics.

We need the Chinese government to arrest him and bring him to face war crime trial at The Hague!
