Just a few brief statements from his speech segments...

"Once we got to a Democratic place we thought Democracy would take care of itself. It doesn't take care of itself. If you want to influence public policy, get involved....Don't count on folks in DC for change. Don't count on me to do it. Get involved and do it yourself."

There were several interviews done there at the conference. Here is one from back in May.

Here is what that group is about:

http://www.tie-detroit.org/html/about_us.html

"TiE's Mission
TiE is an organization charted by entrepreneurs, corporate executives and senior professionals with roots or interest in the Indus region, with the explicit goal of benefiting all entrepreneurs, would be entrepreneurs and professionals with an interest in entrepreneurship

TiE's Objective

To foster entrepreneurship and to nurture entrepreneurs
To network and to facilitate networking among members
To help members integrate with the mainstream community"

Found more podcasts from the conference that were not there before.

Dean gives opening speech at the conference. Audio.

John Furrier interviews Dean at the conference.

These are interesting interviews to me because they show the practical, pragmatic, common sense side of the Governor. Doing what works.

1. Interesting
Cool. I didn't listen to the whole thing. And my sense was that TIE was largely bi-partisan. However, it's a good thing to see that the Chair of the DNC recognizes the importance of this small ethnic community despite the fact their numbers, population-wise, are still small (less than 1%).

2. I'm a member and TiE
is not partisan. It is really about technology and joining American and Indus entrpreneurs. Some of the most recognizable names in hi-tech are prominent TiE organizers.
