I have a post about this in GDP, but I found the video at You Tube.

I posted the transcript of this months ago.

The DNC members had handouts that included quotes by House Minority leader Dan Gelber brushing off Howard Dean, and the following transcript of Steve Geller making the motion to move the primary to Feb. 5:

Geller: "...So the Democratic leader and the Democratic leader pro tem are jointly making this motion, which we will duly show them later, that we tried not to have the election on, um, before (Feb. 5).
President: "And so Sen. Geller are you urging a negative vote or would you like us to pass this vote?"
Geller: "Oh no sir. We really, really want this. Don't we senator? (sarcasm and audible laughter in chamber).

4. That is in the House...Dan Gelber. My post is about Steve Geller.
Gelber is the one who went on TV and ridiculed Dean first. One is House, one is Senate.

Florida screwed up. They won't own up to it, and they will hurt the party.

Their main goal is Howard Dean. Corrine Brown called for him to resign today.

5. Yes, Two Different People
it seems Dan Gelber honestly tried in the House, and the Republicans laughed at him. On the other hand, State Senator Steve Geller seems to be making a joke of it.

So, if you are making the point (which you have) that the Democrats did not seriously try, this clip of Geller supports that. On the other hand, Gelber's clip indicates there was some Democratic effort to stop this.

6. Here are some statements and actions by Gelber...
I do believe he has been more decent than many others, and you will notice I do not often post about him.

However he did play his share in telling the party to shove off. Remember, they knew if they tried to fight the GOP and voted no...the delegates would not have been stripped.

7. Kos has featured this video today Tue Apr 01, 2008 here's his post
Way to go Mad Floridian, the story finally made its way to KOS, posted
by THE Kos.

Those poor Florida Democrats

by kos Tue Apr 01, 2008

To hear the Clinton campaign and Florida Democrats tell it, they were innocent bystanders
to their state's GOP in deciding to move their election date up prior to their sanctioned slot in the calendar.

The reality is much different:

Click on the link to view the video

That's the Florida Senate Democratic minority leader Steven Geller overtly pretending to object to the
new calendar, laughing about it the whole time.

Geller: The chair of the Democratic National Committee has of coursed threatened that if we move the primary to before the first Tuesday in February that they will sanction us at the Democratic National Convention. So the Democratic leader and the Democratic leader pro-tem are jointly making this motion, which we will duly show to them later, that we tried not to have the election before the first Tuesday in March.

Chair: And so Sen. Geller are you urging a negative vote or would you like us to pass this vote?

Geller : Oh no sir, we really really want this, don't we senator?

Chair: I understand. Please don't throw me into the bramble bush.

They were mocking the DNC's calendar and its rules from the beginning.
This wasn't a Democratic Party dragged along by a malicious GOP.
Florida Democrats wanted their state earlier in the calendar.
